I am a cranky old fart. A young couple with an infant-to-toddler sat at the table so darn close to me in a smart restaurant in Charleston, SC. I thot, "O, shit." Other people ooh & aah over this child. The parents me offer a friendly greeting. I felt ashamed. They ordered one dinner to share & were feeding this well-behaved kid. I offer a bottle of wine, but "We don't drink." When I paid for my dinner I quietly paid for theirs too.

OMG I agree 100%. I can't stand when parents are so ignorant and oblivious to the other people around them. I have walked out of places because of loud, obnoxious kids. If your kids can't keep quiet, then don't take them to nice restaurants or tours, shows, etc.

Those cats pacing like that means they are distressed and anxious. Makes them unpredictable. But as they are Rescue animals who knows what their previous environment was like ...
@MrJest27 жыл бұрын
Rescued big cats are often psychologically damaged. The guide mentioned one example with the white tiger, who was a show cat for a magician. He just didn't feel safe unless he had his travel box available to retreat to - that was his "safe space" and he felt comfortable in it (even though he's probably much too large for it now without scrunching and curling up, since it was built for him as a cub/youth). Poor guy essentially has agoraphobia, and can't handle open spaces. It's sad, but at least they are doing their best to give him a comfortable environment, even if it's a "weird" one for the species in general.

There is a Seligman, Missouri just a few miles north of me. Misbehaving kids can ruin things for many. In the old days a parent would pickup and leave but not so much today. I had to applaud one Dad in Walmart one day, his son was having a minor melt down. Dad told him to stop, son started a tantrum so dad picked him up and walked him out of the store lol good dad! Wow there are so many animal sanctuaries everywhere. There are several here in my area and further east there is an elephant sanctuary. Thanks for sharing the sights and seeing Jax. Safe travels👍

I don't know of any caverns that would let you wander thru by yourself. We have a lot of them here. As for the crying baby, depending on how young it was, it may not have been at fault. On the other hand, the parents were irresponsible in not removing themselves and the baby. I'm amazed at what parents let kids get away with today.
@happyhighway1067 жыл бұрын
#167 Hey, Eric. Enjoyed you video including the kids! As a parent of twins I agree. When they were young, we avoided tours. When much older and they could understand what they were seeing, was much better---no crying or fidgeting. Airplanes are the worst! 12 hours of kids crying, not good. So plan your flights carefully.

Eric I want to compliment on you helping Carolyn get her cat out of the tree. Once again I guess you were criticized because you didn't climb the ladder instead of Carolyn, well I don't agree with them: First you take care so your cat doesn't wander off in wild surroundings, where they won't know how to find their way back. Second: from your one video I know your balance is not what it should be and climbing that ladder would have been suicide for you. Third: if she is going to be irresponsible traveling with a cat why should you risk your life, danger of injury (a fall like that could cause an injury for life). Fourth: you were a gentleman in the fact that you did not gape at Carolyns behind while she came down the ladder. Fifth: you helped! Bless you Fanatic once again "you did good"!

I was not going to comment, then I decided I'd toss in my 2-cents worth ... I've been to two weddings this spring. Both of the ceremonies were ruined by screaming children. I mean ruined, to the point the bride and groom in one of the weddings could not hear the preacher and kept looking into the audiance. Did the parents take the hint, and walk the kids out of the church? nope.... When in a restaurant, with screaming kids, I'll asked to be seated elsewhere; if they waitress or manager does not comply, I do what Eric does, and I leave... and I don't go back.... With that said, most of the time the children in our local restaurants are well behaved.

Too bad about the sanctuary tour; I often wonder about parents who allow their children to be disruptive when it ruins experiences for others. Just watching it drove me bonkers. You missed a really good caverns place, I was looking forward to it. Another RV channel I follow also just recently passed it up, so I was excited you were planning to go, since you had it in your vid title. Tsk tsk Eric, clickbait. LOL. A wildlife sanctuary I love in Arizona is Out of Africa. It's located near Cottonwood, so if you're visiting Sedona, it is very worthwhile to make the drive for an all day visit. Much larger than this one, the Jeep takes you INSIDE the enclosures and you get up close & personal. Feeding the giraffes is my favorite. You can also feed the tigers, it's amazing. While there, I got to hold a huge Burmese Reticulated Python at the business end. He snaked his head around and slid under my chin. I never knew I liked snakes. Probably as a city gal, I'm never around them, except when hiking or camping. I can't count how many close calls I've had with rattlesnakes. Something big is next? The Grand Canyon.

Yeah I probably would've left too. I hate when kids start screaming and their parents sit there and ignore them. When we were kids we got a hand with our parents let us know and we sat there and behaved. That's why we have so many disrespectful young adults today because there parents didn't teach them any manners. Your enjoyment should not be infringed upon. And for those people that are complaining it's called parenting.
@casitacindy4617 жыл бұрын
raised 3 boys, never used spanking. I would simply walk them out of restaurant/tour/etc. and neither boy nor mom got to experience the restaurant/tour/etc. even as babies they would calm down and we could resume. as they aged I would reminded them that we were both missing out because they were so disruptive. believe me, they quickly caught on that they should behave themselves. Its just common sense to respect others rights and it was my responsibility as a parent to calm my frustrated/crying child by removing them from what is irritating them. no need to reply if you are going into attack mode, it just this old girls opinion. scroll on if you don't agree with me, lol.

I feel you bro that's just not right of those parents. A lot of people are like that they think because they have kids they rule the world and can do no wrong. That kid is getting nothing from that experience and now all of the people that paid to take the ride have to endure that annoyance. Because they would not get a baby sitter or just wait until the kid is old enough. It's just common curtesy not to take your young kids on things like this it is very disrespectful to others. All people saying it's ok and that if you had kids you'd understand no sir your a dick with no regard for others and totally out of touch. Leave your kids at home until there ready to behave or take them to kid friendly activities with other parents that can all enjoy the sound of crying together!
