Thanks for posting. I’m looking into taking my boys for the first time. This place looks gorgeous. But the cabins are so expensive. I’ll probably book a regular room instead. But this was super helpful.

When you make a reservation check everything available. Sometimes the cabin prices are actually lower than the hotel room depending on location. The cabins at Camp Long Creek are sometimes less expensive than the hotel rooms at Big Cedar Lodge. They are owned by the same company and you get to use all of the mutual amenities like pools and eateries. But you get far more amenities in a cabin then in the hotel room. Camp Long Creek is just a couple miles down the road and very easily accessed from Big Cedar.

If you're talking about comparing the cabins with the cottages that are all on the Big Cedar property it would depend on the size space you need. Overall, we like the cottages better because they're newer, slightly bigger in square footage. are closest to the best pool and have the best views of the lake. However they are farthest from the rest of the amenities on the resort property but still are on the shuttle bus route. The cottages only have 3 sizes that are readily available to the public. 2 of them are on our website, The 2 bedroom " family " cottage and the one room cottage with loft. There is a 2 bedroom cottage that only has 1 Queen bed in the 2nd bedroom with a smaller bathroom. We will post that sometime in the next few months. There is no 1 bedroom cottage that is specifically designed for 2 people. When it is just the 2 of us, we prefer the one room private cabin or the Camp Long Creek cabins or glamping tent. When there is more than the 2 of us we preferred the 2 bedroom cottage or the 2 bedroom family cottage.

Big Cedar works on a sliding scale depending on time of year and availability. This particular cabin is usually close to $400 a night but can be as low is $250 for off season weekdays or specials and as hight as $600 for high demand times. They do have several different accommodations and prices and we have videos for most of them. Thanks and happy holidays.

We love going to Big Cedar in January, when it's snowy and cold. It's even fun to take a hike in the snow on the trails. We love what we call "the magic wood pile", where the gentleman delivers fresh firewood every morning before we awaken and the cookie lady treats at night. The main reason we go in January is we love the cold so we can take advantage of that fireplace. There's nothing better than curling up on that comfy couch with a good book and a roaring fire. One winter when we went, I was not feeling well, so I just laid under a comforter I brought with on the couch with the fire and drank a LOT of hot tea, plus we brought groceries with us and I made a pot of homemade soup. We even cooked hot dogs in the fireplace one night. Best vacations ever are the ones we've spent at Big Cedar during the winter.

Yes, most of their tubs do in almost every cabin. I would advise confirming it with a call when booking a cabin if it is important to you.

We will spend most of the time in the cabin since I have been everywhere on that resort and Johnny's other ones. I need to get away reflect after losing my Dad and then stupid covid. I should not have to see many people in this cabin with a private deck.
