Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY , we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

the fact his grandad was so disappointed in his survival skills reminds me of my relationship with my adopted grandad (I’ve just turned 22 and he is 85) and our lives are so different - he was in the British Royal Air Force and I just love his stories so so much! he worked in Cyprus and they gave him things like pickled sparrows to eat and I just can’t imagine anyone my age being willing to eat that tbh although for survival, I would do it!

I just saw a great American. A man who obviously loves his family. Who has a garage packed with tools. Has a classic car in that garage. Can work on his own car and his grandson's van. A man who's 87 years old and can still do a full days work. He can do maths in his head. A lifelong educator. Brave enought to get vaccinated to protect his family, friends and neighbors. A man's man. Pop, you are awesome.

@@martinc.720 simply admiration for an independent 87-year old. If they were in Canada I'd call him a great Canadian. If it were Liberia, I call him a great Liberian. Brazil? Please tell your grandparents they really made me smile and it was much needed since I’m currently dealing with potential homelessness and I’m really scared but that hooray made me grin so big.

Your Grandfather is amazing! What a role model on how to age. He's more active and energetic than a lot of people half his age!!! How inspiring! ❤️

Thank you Kara and Nate for sharing family time. Nate you are so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful grandparents. You really need to spend quality time with both of them and record their childhood memories. Also record all the memories they have of their parents and their grandparents.
