Those dark coppery brown on the wings can indicate a rooster didn't know if you were aware

A nice little trick to getting needed medications for livestock is to make nice with a local farm vet. Have them out for a home visit and just talk to them. Ask them while they are there if you could call them from time to time as things pop up that aren't emergencies. A lot of times you will find that the farm vets are more understanding of what a farmer goes through with taking care of their live stock are are more than willing to work with people who have the knowledge to treat the problem if they have the medication to do so. I was running my own IV's on a very sick horse I had at the age of 14. I could draw blood, nose tube, the whole 9 yards because I worked with the vet for the betterment of my animals. She showed me what to do, I watched and then she had me do it with her there until she was satisfied that I knew what I was about. She would leave me the things I needed so if I had a problem I could do all the initial steps myself and have things ready in case there was an emergency. Not all vets are arrogant. The good farm vets are willing to do almost anything provided that the people they work with arent arrogant or acting like know it alls. Its the city type vets that show the most arrogance.

Get more hens. I recently got more baby chicks because I wanted to add cockerels to my flock, and all the research I’ve done says that one rooster needs a minimum of 8-10 hens, or they will over mate the hens, pulling out feathers, and possibly even cutting their backs open. In the meantime, you can get a hen saddle for your bare-naked ladies. I’d also consider confining your roo, (like a in a large dog crate, or by sectioning off part of your run, so he can still see the hens, but can’t touch them, to give your hens a break from him. If all this fails get rid of the rooster rehome him, might be his personality to be a dick. Stress's the hens out.

For mice and rat's put baking soda and corn meal in a container ( half and half ) , put two little holes in the container and that will kill the mice and rat's and won't hurt anything that eats them. I put corn starch on my hens when they end up with bare spots and that seems to help. Your birds are looking good. I hope y'all have a great night.

Or get a couple small terrier breeds of dogs and teach them to rat....then you don't have to worry about livestock or wildlife eating poisoned rodents. It is also more humane than poison and lets the dogs do what they were bred for.

Cornmeal and baking soda to kill mice/rats and safe for other animals. My friend used permethrin when she had lice on her chickens. Sprayed the chickens and the complete area even her grass she said it worked. Then she made a dusting bath with diatomaceous and put some in food for worm treatments...js Love your chicks❤

I have changed my dog's food, but I did its slow, and she has been in water a lot lately, and her ear seems swollen and she is scratching it. She has a vet appointment tomorrow, but honestly, I feel like even if other subs see this,maybe some recommendations of how to treat her or give her some relief? Hey Shay umm after you go to vet ( if you feel u might want to try a holistic alternative look up GRAPEFRUIT ( NOT GRAP SEED ) but GRAPEFRUIT extract drops. I'm far from knowing or expert but I heard if you look it up maybe ( ask the vet )

My girl had a swollen face and eye they put her on medication for itching eye drops and amoxicillin told me bring her back in 3 weeks she looked perfectly fine my appointment was for a Wednesday afternoon for a follow up well morning of appointment I had a family emergency I called them to inform them I had a emergency and I’d half to reschedule her appointment when I got back and I’d let them know they told me because I didn’t give them 24 hours notice that I was going to be charged 75$ I said it was a emergency and plus the day before was a Sunday and they were closed she told me I could of left a message on the machine I was so mad

County Ag rep..had me dip my chickens in liquid seven to kill lice...worked great...never had a problem again..tho was in Florida so warm more days than not. I had to catch a warm enough day in January when I had my lice problem.

I mixed up the liquid seven according to ag rep instructions...used a five gallon bucket. Just dip one by one chickens head first into bucket. No more lice!

Sad. And sadly not surprising. Next we'll have to get a prescription for neosporin triple antibiotic ointment for humans every time we want to use it with a bandaid. Do you know if it's been passed already or just likely to be passed? And does it include other things like worming treatments for livestock? Anyway, thank you again for all your care and work for the farming /pet community.

I took my dog for her yearly check up on a Monday and she was fine. By Friday, she was sick and vomiting blood and having diarrhea. I'm positive she got something from the vets office. The vet acted like I did something. My dog had been nowhere and had eaten nothing abnormal 🤨
