I missed this video when you posted earlier because of holiday preparations. So glad to finally see this today, and what a way to celebrate Christmas - seeing blue water and tons of fish. Those sea lions were VERY determined, but then they are fattening up for the Winter so I hope they caught plenty to last them. Merry Christmas to you and girls. Wherever you are, wishing you safe travels and all the best for the New Year to come.

A couple of things came to my mind watching this video. #1 is your daughters choose to stay with you and to travel with you even tho they are of an age where they could be going off on their own. This speaks volumes to me in regards to your parenting skills, as I could not wait to leave my family, was able to convince my mom to allow me to become an immancipated minor at age 16 and I left home soon after. And while I had many "trial flights" before I finally left home at 22, each flight was longer than the one previous and my determination to live independently of my family just increased with every failed trial flight. That both of your girls are so very obviously very happy to stay with you says so much about how deeply your family bonds run. Second, I love being able to see healthy, thriving salmon runs regardless of where they happen. I lived on the shores of Lake Tahoe for a year and was able to experience the salmon runs there, also lived in western Washington State for many years and saw the salmon runs there but sadly also saw the decline of the runs year after year. It's good to know that rivers still run free and unimpeded, allowing salmon runs to occur in their annual cycles, at least in some places...and that in other places among the lower 48, those ancient salmon breeding grounds are being restored via dam removals and habitat reclamation, after sometimes a hundred years or more of the salmon being blocked. So many people just do not understand how vital the annual salmon runs are, primarily to the health of the riparian ecosystems they occur in, and thus to all of the animals (including humans) they are. Thankfully, we have learned by our mistakes and repairing the damages we did to salmon breeding grounds and after many decades of decline, salmon numbers are slowly beginning to climb again, and the ecosystems they they support are beginning to recover as well!

First of all, thank you so much for you very kind words about our family and the relationship that we have with our girls. Parenting is such an incredible but never ending job and after losing my (Jess') dad at such a young age, we knew we wanted to make every minute we had with our girls count until God opened up the door for the next chapter in their lives. It has taking our time, our consistency, our love, our mercy and all of our prayers, but we couldn't have asked for better daughters or better relationships with them. We are so excited to see what their next adventures will be when they do leave us SOMEDAY, but until that happens we will continue to cherish every minute. We know that time is coming soon! Secondly, it is so special to see so much wildlife in Alaska. Though there is a lot of fishing that has had to be regulated in the last 10 years in Alaska because of the decline in numbers, they are thankfully taking it very seriously so that we never lose them completely! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! It means so very much! We hope you and your family have a wonderful 2025!

Really enjoying your in-depth trip to Alaska with the lineage rv. It is interesting how LJMJ were also in a lineage, and they are now showing us the build of their new 5th wheel. Goes to show the different ways that youtubers present their journeys. I also found it interesting how you folks spell and pronounce Leila. My grandmother and my niece both have that name, but we pronounce it, Leela. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what's next from you folks. I assume it I'll be in another 6 months when we see what you did in the fall 😊

We did so much in Alaska this summer and we don't want to skip over any of it! WE obviously what you guys to see all that we did but we also are making these videos to watch with our grandchildren SOMEDAY! WE also purposely film a lot in the summer so that we can take a break in the winter and enjoy the holidays with the girls and our family. It is really important for us to find that balance to avoid burnout. We will be sharing our fall adventures in Iceland in a few weeks! And we will also be showing the build of our custom one of kind new travel trailer! Our pronunciation of Leila is from the Hawaiian spelling! Excited to share so many exciting things coming up on the channel with you guys soon!

Great video! You guys must have been there right around the same time we were (aug 3rd). Wish we would have run into you :). We loved our time there and it looks like you guys did as well. Great job capturing the scenery out by the lake and glacier - really hard to get good footage there with so much light reflecting off of everything - but you mastered it well! The kayaks looked great I wish we had done that but we now know for next time. And how fun for the girls to barehand catch the salmon! I had to use a pole :) The place has really changed in the last 6 years hasn't it? Looking forward to Lulu bell next :) Safe travels and happy holidays to you guys!

Just down from the hatchery is some pretty cool dry camping for a fee. We didn’t see any bears either at the hatchery, but a ton of seals and a million salmons trying to get back into the hatchery, their birthplace. At your campground, BearPaw, did the owner in the store sound like Tommy Lee Jones? Valdez, Alaska was our favorite place too. We went to both museums and learned more about the tsunami from the earthquake. We took the nature cruise too…….absolutely fabulous. While we were in Valdez, two people died kyacking that Valdez Lake. Watching you, made me nervous because of icebergs calving. It’s best to keep your distance. Thanks for bringing back memories. I so want to go again.

@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 7 күн бұрын
@@LB-cv8wg I really depends on how much you want to do and see and how fast you want to travel up and back and to each location in between. You could absolutely kill it driving up and back though we really recommend that you experience the wonders of Canada if you can. They are right up there with everything that you will see in Alaska. Once you get to Anchorage, it is the central hub for how to get to all the points of interest out to the water. You could do it in a month but if you can we suggest 2. Leave states July 1 and head out of Alaska end of August getting back down to the states in early September. Really hope you are able to get up there SOMEDAY soon!

After my (Jess') dad passed away at 53, we altered every part of our lives to find a way to live each moment while we can. It can be scary and unknown but leaving Maine and hitting the road for what we thought was just going to be a year, opened up a new world, a new business, and a new life for us and our girls. It was the best decision we have ever made!

Our Time in Alaska 6 years ago and meeting LJMJ for the first time was so special! I will never forget crying with Marissa around the campfire when she told us she was pregnant! She had told Nathan right before she met us and hadn't even told their families yet! IT was so special! Thank you for watching!
