We had to back our 36' DP onto the ferry in AK. That was an adventure. One shot and no issues. Do not look where you are going, only watch the man walking outside direct you with hand signals. Insane.😮
@johnlane8403Күн бұрын
Your music was way louder than the AC. I think it could be more background.. it was hard to pick out your voice. I had to turn it down because of the music in turn your voice went down... just a little lower on the music ;-)

Those ferry staff are true experts. They got our 30' 5th wheel in and out without issue. I was at the wheel, but they told me exactly what to do! The weather was pretty wet then too.

Another amazing video. We learned a few things in Alaska. One is that all Bald Eagles, male and female have the white head. The ones not white are under 5 years old. We enjoyed our time in Skagway and rode the White Pass Railroad up to the Yukon to the suspension bridge. It was an awesome ride. You have made us want to go back again.

We camped in Skagway and while there took the ferry down to Juneau for 2 nights. Some people told us how terrible the grade was doing down into Skagway but we had no trouble going down and back up up with our Ford F150 and 24' travel trailer. The town is definitely a can't miss.

Yes, sorry, I wrote on the screen it was us shifting the the ramp as we drove on it. The noise of the brakes seemed to have added some extra noise as well. I was terrified I hit something so I looked underneath for awhile as soon as we parked.

We stayed at the same Rv park in Haines a week before you. There were bear in the rv park most every night (bear scat) along with both black and grizzly at the fish count area…. Plus moose and eagles in the same area.
@FindingOurSomeday2 күн бұрын
Yeah we must have just missed you because we saw the scat on the docks . They said the bears had just been out there, but we didn’t see them. You saw a lot there! We didn’t see a moose either 🫤

In May, I’ll be taking my travel trailer in two places you’ve warned me about, McCarthy and this ferry. If it results in disaster, I can never say I wasn’t warned.
@FindingOurSomeday2 күн бұрын
The warnings are just so you are away! McCarthy and Haines were 2 of our favorite stops on this trip to Alaska and we hope you enjoy them just as much as we did! WE definitely recommend taking the ferry and thought it was a great experience, but just wanted you to be aware that you need to go slow, listen to your parkers, and that you can't stay in your RV while at sea! Thank you so much for joining us tonight!

An incredible stop just north of Haines is the Steve Kroschel Wildlife Center. He's worked with lots of filmmakers to create some fantastic footage, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska. I hope that the weather cleared up for you when you drove north from Skagway. That drive is one of our most favorites anywhere!
@FindingOurSomeday2 күн бұрын
I hadn’t heard of that wildlife center! I’ll have to look it up, thank you! The weather cleared just after getting to Skagway, beautiful drive out of there. Look for it next week !

When we moved up to Alaska for hubby's job, his company moved us up on the ferry (hauling our 5th wheel), and after spending 7yrs in Alaska, we moved back to the lower 48, on the ferry. It was 6 days one way on the ferry to Bellingham. We had driven the ALCAN so many times while we were living in the far north that I insisted we take the ferry back. Ahhh...the memories of our years in Alaska! I still miss that beautiful state and all the memories and friends we made there.

I’ll look into those! I think we have since solved it (as long as we use them 🫣) we have the DJI wireless mics and the DJI Action 5 and they will now both sync up together, before it was only one at a time. Stoked to hear you’re liking the Alaska stuff . We head down back into Canada next week!
