Love your videos. God Bless you and hope you and your family are well. I surprised my dad with a Factory Five Cobra for his 60th birthday. Putting a 351C from a boss mustang in it. Always his dream...kept the motor for 30+ years for that reason. A 1969 Fastback conversion is my dream project...and hopefully his next surprise gift. (its both our favorite mustang) I'm thinking about saving up and ordering all the parts now, and sitting on them. Buy the coupe down the road when the right one pops up.

What a great gift!!!!! Love me some Cleveland’s. Had a boss 351, 4 bolt, with CJ close chambered heads back in the day. It would scream as long as you got the oil restrictors right, otherwise it’d spit a rod out the side. Buying the parts now isn’t a bad idea…

Yes, shipping can add up. I live about 300 miles from CJ Pony Parts and I have bought most of my parts for my 65 Coupe from them. when I bought the fenders Hood bumpers trunklid and other front sheetmetal, the shipping was almost 500 dollars. I took a day and drove down and picked it all up in my pick up for 100 dollars. Proximity helps sometimes. thank you for your information.

I have a genuine 67 fastback. I have no issue with people making these conversions, but they should know before they start that the fastback interior pieces are nearly impossible to find.

Restorations Part Source out of California has the best prices hands down. They are a Dynacorn parts wholesaler and really work to get you the best price for shipping. They shipped me a complete conversion kit and some extras from CA to WA for $150. That was 2 years ago so the price has gone up.

@@CMOSX I was hesitant myself. I think my order was close to $8,000 at the time but everything was shipped directly from Dynacorn in a timely manner. Only issue was the availability of parts as it was the summer of 2020.

It looks like RPS drop ships Scott Drake, dynacorn and AllPro. RPS prices are exactly the same as buying direct from the manufacturer. I need misc parts so I guess I’ll give it a try.

I don't think so, but the updates aren't happening super often. Maybe once a year. I'd give the updates for free but there's no way to make that work with the platform they are on.

Right now the parts are close in price to the 1964-66. There are affordable Fastbacks in that year range but they are gaining in popularity so the price is driving up. I still think you can get a 1969-70 fastback VIN car affordably enough and not do the conversion. That will go away soon though. The conversion for all years is incredibly similar. It’s doable for sure.

Lots have changed since this video… yes you can buy the complete kit now. Not all the parts are Dynacorn… that’s the rub.

Unfortunately I haven't kept up with the shops doing the work. Honestly the pricing has gotten so high that it's almost impossible to afford a shop. The ones that are good are worth the money but it'll take a lot of it...

why would anyone want to convert a 71 to 73 big nose mustang to a fastback? those are the only years that the coupe looked better than the fastback

I think presently you can still get a good shape big nose fastback cheaper than a conversion. I think the coupe over the fastback is a personal preference. I like the fastback in that year I had a 73 fastback with a Cleveland...It was my favorite car.

Prices have skyrocketed since this video. Freight has gotten better but the parts took a crazy jump. CJ’s hosts a sale at various times, have to keep your eyes on it…
