🔴 Big Changes to the GMAT | The Focus Edition Details

A new version of the GMAT - The GMAT Focus Edition - will be conducted by GMAC from later this year.
What's new in this testing version?
- No AWA section
- Three 45-minute sections (Quant, Verbal, and a new section called Data Insights) reducing the total exam duration to 135 minutes
- You can bookmark and review as many questions as you want, and you can change up to three answers per section
- The sections can be attempted in any order
- Sending of scores to 5 schools AFTER the test
- Each official score report will only contain one score, which means you can decide whether or not to share previous scores with schools
- Improved Official Score Report with detailed performance insights
- Reduced content for exam preparation
The old (current) version of the exam will remain in place through early 2024.

Hello Sir, I'm about to start my GMAT preparation in April, but I'm quite worried about the change. Would taking a 6-month plan and studying the entire GMAT in the current format be beneficial? What if they changed the whole SC and DS section? Where should I go from here? Is it better to keep studying with this current format until I have time to switch to the updated FOCUS edition of Focus?

Hi, If you're planning to give your GMAT by end of this year, you can stick to the old format itself. If you intend on taking the GMAT next year, then going with the Focus Edition would be a much better idea. Yes, it is a good idea to stick to the old format for the time being.

this May, 2023 and I live in West Bengal, in India. Whether I can use my Aadhaar Card as a prof of identification during my test, take home based edition?

The aadhaar is still valid as a proof of identification for the online test, yes. The aadhaar will continue to be accepted for at least the initial period after the Focus Edition is introduced. We will keep you posted on the channel if anything changes.

bro if we prepare quant for CAT, can I directly write quant for GMAT or should I prepare separately? If so what's the difference?

Your CAT quant will keep you in good stead for the GMAT Focus edition. However, you have to work on DS that is a part of the Data Insights section.

Sir should i prepare for the older version if im writing my exam in December? Are there any benifits with taking classic GMAT over the focus edition?

If Sentence Correction / Geometry are your strong points and IR is something that you have not invested too much time or effort till now, the classic version will be a good bet. If your answer to all 3 parts of the above question is no, you should go with the Focus edition

In Jan 2024 both versions of the GMAT will be available. You can take the old classic version. GMAC has mentioned that the test will be available for a certain period in Quarter 1 of 2024. So, the sooner you take the better it is - if you are opting for the classic version

GMAT also should consider non English speakers fairness with natives and reduce the verbal reasoning wightage on the final result 200-800
