You can read from bharat sir's articles and can also read from aeon essay. Com its is a website with long essays on multiple topics philosophy, science, history etc. Focus on reading variety of topics.

It's not about qualifying for cat.. It's about getting a good percentile.. If ur aiming for IIMs... In that case you need to score well in all the 3 sections.. Because there are sectional cut offs

Take up a job after you are done with your surgery and have taken sufficient rest. It's the best option you have. Don't take a drop.

@@pranjalmishra3290 I don't know what kind of certifications could be helpful. But your case is unique, and without a job, you should be able to justify well on what happened, and why the break, and how it did not stop you from getting certified in a bunch of things. :)

Prepare for the exam in your final year/pre final year. Pre final year preferably. We do not know which CAT are you targeting. Is it CAT 2020?

Start with Wikipedia and news articles. Then move to short stories like Sherlock Holmes then go to novels like Angels and Demons, Da Vinci Code. If you take a novel in start it's not going to work
