Location: Johnson Lake Inlet, South of Lexington Nebraska
Time: Sunup to 10:30am
CASTING and HOOKUPS: Beginning at 14:20 mark.
Some really nice Wipers, White Bass and a big Channel Cat that was minium 15 lbs - first fish caught. One BIG Wiper that got off, possibly the biggest one I have ever hooked.
Hookups included on this video, I need to do better in turning the camera on when I’m casting, but there are a few in this one. The 14:20 mark has hookups and Wiper #6 and Wiper #7 are hookups
with casts and nice sized Wipers.
Fishing Style: Live Bait - Shad - Casting far and allowing to drift with current and jigging simultaneously. S
Rig: ¼ ounce Egg Sinker, Swivel, Snelled #6 Hook
Rod: St. Croix - Medium and St. Croix Ultralight for Crappie
The Water was FAST early this AM. It hasn’t been this fast for a couple of weeks or more. Then they began gradually shutting the gate and slowing it down. Fishing was as good as it gets for about an hour until they kept shutting it down and the fish went back to the lake.
But for that hour or a little more, fishing was EXCELENT!
