Chief prefers the steel "back halved" cars but he realized the game was changing so he had to get something lighter. The Crowmod wasn't supposed to debut 'til later this year. The destruction of the Crow forced the issue. There are rumors that Chief has a more "traditional" steel "back halved" car in the works.

+b00st Well to be fair, even Rickie Smith is now, after years of hating on turbo cars, getting a turbo car. Can't beat em, join em, same stuff. In fact I think Rickie sorta wanted to beat people in a turbo car so badly that the NHRA would restrict turbo cars so he could go back to nitrous and be competitive again :) And Chief is just playing the cards he is dealt. Without the show, he would only be able to afford a beater with a TT setup on a normal motor. Now, he knows the light is shining on him and the crew and they are reaping what they sow, because they know and has said on camera, that this won't last forever and they have to go back to being streeters in a few years again.
