If someone thinks this isn’t a big chop just know that her cutting her straight hair is me literally shaving my head because my hair is 18 inches long and although a big chop isn’t just cutting a lot of hair it’s cutting any unhealthy hair and starting from all natural healthy hair which is what she’s doing she cut her straight hair and now it’s just her healthy hair

Ciena Navarrete but that’s not what a big chop is, it’s just facts, no hate🤗, there is nothing wrong with transitioning and she did do that for three years, a big chop is not about the length but the fact that you cut your hair to almost nothing and start afresh , her hair is lovely though, I don’t know why people can’t differentiate facts from hate speech these days

I was in a rut hair-wise for years until I started using a protective style and leaving heat out of my hair as often as possible. I actually started retaining length rather accidentally, as I didn't know anything about protective styles at the time. I just put my hair up, put a fake bun over it and went about my life until one day I realized I didn't need the fake bun anymore LOL. I continued to wear a bun, keep my ends and edges moist, keep heat off of it as much as possible and just leave it the heck alone. It's right above my waist now, but I"m wanting it to get just a bit longer, maybe five inches or so and then I'll be satisfied.

The fact that you didn't want to offend anyone with your "excitement " literally 'YOUR EXCITEMENT' is selfish of others. waist length after 3 years is incredible. Somewhere between becoming 'adults' people have forgotten that we are not all the same. Weren't we taught that as kids. . @Anana3155 жыл бұрын
Ms. D Dodson A big chop is not about the length of hair that is removed. It is when you cut your hair almost entirely or entirely to start from zero. That’s why we differentiate a big chop from a transition. She did a transition cause she didn’t cut her hair entirely but let it grow than trimmed her relaxed ends.

@@queenteeteeeditx9971 nothing about the process of big chopping indicates that you must be bald or almost bald when you're done. Bullrun even as an Asian girl with straight hair, my hair is thinner and breaks easier around the crown in my head. A lot of hair styles girls do in the every day also put stress on the crown (pony tails, buns, etc)

People never mention that one might have more than one hair texture. Also the crown of your head needs extra attention since it gets less natural oils due to gravity!
@naiya.nicole__5 жыл бұрын
The crown is definitely different because it’s harder to get to due to where it’s at, it’s always growing out but the ends get constant manipulation so it will get altered because it’s old hair vs the crown is always new, and people forget to focus on it.

Wow! Great job on your big chop! Anyone who says this isn't a big chop, never chopped 17 inches or probably not even a foot of hair! Your hair looks very nice and healthy! Of course you can be happy with your length! A lot of people are unfortunately very insecure! I love ALL healthy hair whether 3A, 4C, 1B or my own type which is a mixture of 3C/4A/4B on different parts of my head. I love undefined curls and coils, and defined loopy ones. I just have a general love for all our hair in all it's glory, whether long or short. There's nothing like when we rock our natural hair with confidence in whatever styles we choose!! Again, great job and excellent video!

Your curls are to die for 😍 reminds me a bit of my hair. I waited until I had long curls before I cut off the straight pieces. Don’t let anyone rush you or make you feel bad for waiting. Everyone has a different story and a different timeline. Do what feels right for you♥️

Keeping your chemically straightened hair ABSOLUTELY does protect the ends! That's why I hope to transition until my hair is past should length stretched. People need to stop telling other people what to do. I'm really over all this hate. Your hair looks beautiful!
@Millennialmoney1015 жыл бұрын
I disagree and I transitioned for two years. Your relaxed ends will eventually become extremely broken off and thin.
@xtelfolaj5 жыл бұрын
This is true. I saw a youtuber with 4c hair transition til she was waist length. I wish I could of did that but the breakage was too much and fustrating.
@denyshadials57025 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Choose the right products, master detangling, and keep up with your trims and your relaxed ends stay full and thick throughout your whole transition. Natural ends will stay protected. I transitioned almost two years. Best decision.
@SpiritualAttitudeSage5 жыл бұрын
what do you mean, protecting?
@denyshadials57025 жыл бұрын
djanel_goldenmoon The ends of your hair gradually wear away on a daily basis. If you’re growing out relaxed hair (straight hair) then your natural ends (curly) aren’t exposed yet because they’re still connected. As soon as you cut off the relaxed ends, the new natural ends are vulnerable to wear and tear. So long-term transitioning protects your natural ends because the relaxed hair takes all the damage. If you don’t continue to care for your relaxed hair, then the hair splits to the line of demarcation, which can damage your natural hair. Bottom line: If you take care of your relaxed ends then your natural hair will be healthier when you finally cut them.

People love telling others what to do and then try to say it’s an opinion. They forget folks are grown and can do what they want. Your hair is beautiful and happy belated birthday!!❤️

I've been relaxing my hair since I was 16 and now I'm 29. The last time I did it was 4 months ago and I now want my natural hair back! After watching many videos of hair transitioning, the way you've done yours is the one that has inspired me to really go through with it. And that's right, your straight ends protected your curls, clever move. I just want to say thank you for inspiring me on my journey! Lots of love from London, England ♥️
