As someone with 4c hair myself i'd be very cautious with mini twist. Theres a reason hair twisting is whats used to create locs. When i did medium-large sized twist and washed my scalp once a week. By the second week my hair was immensely locing. I believe its because the water causes the hair to expand in the loose twist and when it dries it shrinks back up. This process causes strand to intertwine and matt together. With mini braids the hair is constricted and lengthened so as long as you moisturize regularly you won't deal with that issue. You mentioned your hair was 4a so maybe you wont deal with this problem but just be careful.
@SharatiaBanks26 күн бұрын
@@Jem5122 that just may be a common thing amongst type 4 hair (I’m a,b,c,d,e,f,g) twists used to make it so much more difficult to unravel if it wet them. I was thinking if I do it, then redo and wash every 2 weeks. Idk how my scalp will take it but I like experimenting lol

Hi. Been following your routine for about a year now. I had a question about hair shedding. I do my box braids in like shmedium size. I keep them in for about 2 months at a time. When I take out the braid I have clunks/balls of shed hair, especially at the root of the braid. the amount of shed hair that comes out, feels like it’s too much. I’m not sure if it’s because the braids are too small, too tight, or just my hair texture making it seem like a lot. I also wash & wet my hair multiple times a month due to religious reasons. So how can I avoice that much shed hair even with the washing?
@SharatiaBanks10 күн бұрын
@@NunusExperience hey! Seeing a ball of shed hair can be concerning for sure. Our hair sheds 50 strands a day. What do you think out of all your routine could be the cause of you being able to gain an inch of growth a month? You grew a lot in a year!
@SharatiaBanks26 күн бұрын
@@latrice313 growing an inch a month would be awesome, I wish!!!! (There were months that were half or less than that).. but I’d say it’s a combination of everything I’ve been doing consistently. I did notice that whenever I massage my head more frequently, I have better results that month. July didn’t grow and that was the month that I did take any vitamins, teas, massages, washes, nothing. And it showed when I did my length check.

@__HappilyMarried25 күн бұрын
I’m for the big chop. Health over length, I personally can’t stand having straggly ends and damaged hair for the sake of length. I’ve been growing out my hair with small trims and haircuts for over a year. I finally just cut the rest the damage off so now I have a healthy bob in time for the new year.

I want to say twists sooooo bad. But they just don't last as long. And in my experience twist get much more matted so much easier than braids. Now maybe if/ when you're looking to do like a two week style without washing..... I'd choose twist
@Miwe1321 күн бұрын
Please do twists 🥹 I was also doing plaits in 2024 and now am bored of them so am doing twists in 2025 because I also want to compare the two .it will be good if you can do twist for a few months then make a comparison video of the pros and cons of each 😊
