I tried to tell him to cut with the cape as the guide and not my cut hair as the guide for that reason. I was nervous too when he told me my hair was curling up!

I think you still need do trim every 3-4months for better growth and health. Did you have layers cut before?looks have layers. Sometimes chopped off the hair as need better hair growth and health,definitely need time to grow. This hair length you can trying light soft layers instead thick solid layers.
