I am not a Gambian and an African. What I learn from this conversation is that Ghanaians are jealous of Nigeria taking a forefront in the music industry in Africa. But truth be told as African let us accept the fact that for a black race to make impact and prominence in any sector in the world Nigeria has to lead and by that we can get respected and honored worldwide. And Nigerians don't just lead they have a talent and aggressive nature of going for what they want. So please let us as African apply the spirit of Ubuntu. Togetherness.

As the saying goes: if you build it, they will come. Nigeria has built it! For example, Chinese and Indian Movie Industries were already long established, but Nigeria took over and became the second biggest Movie industry after Hollywood. Ghana is becoming famous for associating with Nigeria's success, instead of trying to learn from Nigeria.

Listening to these Nigerian guests speak about how certain parameters were put in place to structure their Music Industry, you come to realize that the Success of their music Industry came with a lot of arduous work (for example they built a Music management Academy) which most of the other African music industries don't have and have no idea about. Nigeria is far developed than most African countries. Ghana should learn and apply it...leave competition with 9ja!!

Like my Nigerian brothers said there are lots of good things happening in ghana and has happened in Ghana.. but for some reasons its the Nigerians success that is giving them sleepless night and they want to be competing with.. Glad our nigerian industries dont have that mind set against any african industry, they just work hard and leave the rest for us the people to push to the world.. when something good is happening in other african countries the first thing we think about is collaboration and how we can incoporate it into ours. the amapiano sound is a good example.

Ghanaians should focus on their strengths, take for example the year of return in Ghana iis very successful, December in ghana is also great, Nigerians dont envy ghana because of these successes, rather we support them in ensuring it becomes better, most of the black americans coming to ghana in december have Nigerian and other DNA's, and we are proud of what ghana is doing with it, but i know if it were Nigeria having these success story, ghana will be thinking of doing it too, lets just play to our strength, we cant be good at everything.

Ghanaians doing all these interviews not just because they like what is happening in Nigeria, they see everything with Nigeria as it should also happen in Ghana, these competitions is not necessary, cos Nigerians dont compare, they just see opportunities out of every situation, and these Nigerians guys in the studio are just trying not to hype our country too much in front of these interviewers, Nigerian music will remain for a long time.

I really dislike that guy called Motolani too much, he really need some common sense… He always gives the credit of the Nigerian Afrobeats success to the Ghanaians. Some of these guys in the Nigerian music industry are really senseless and fools that’s why Ghanaians are continue claiming Afrobeats because some of these Nigerians in the media are always trying so hard to be a diplomatic with the Ghanaians for giving them credit. He’s very stupid guy and known nothing about the Nigerian entertainment industry. Afrobeats is a Nigerian genre, brand and product. Afrobeats is not a West African or African thing. It’s a Nigerian thing period!

Nigeria artists put in their money, sometimes their parents money, even back in the days banks will not loan you because they didn't know afrobeat will come this far. There are a lot of underground artists that have invested so much of their money without any government help. The so called Nollywood you are referring to, it was individual investment until they were able to convince government of Good luck Jonathan in which certain money were to be made available to the Nollywood, and this doesn't mean that government will just give them money.

U guys should be attentive and learn from naija. Leave all those talks about that naija might pop again in the next 5/10 years, nah that's a lie. Nigeria music will stay relevant for a very long time.

Nigerians have no time to compete with anybody in what they do. Their utmost interest is always to take themselves to the global podium and showcase what they've got, while Ghanaians are mainly after how they can be better than Nigerians or how they will be ones recognised instead of Nigeria. I'm sure Sammy flex must've seen this video and must've understood one thing, and that is to do your thing with the mindset of getting better and better instead of competing with everyone around you.. thanks to my naija brothers...

An SDC (Show Dem Camp) fan here. From the outside, you'll think they don't have commercial success because they don't pull a lot of streaming numbers but the fans that they have stick to them so hard and it has become a community. That's why their concerts are always sold out. It's the same thing with The Cavemen and some alté artists (including Amaarae). Their sub-genre is like an acquired taste. Once you get the sweetness of the music, you stick to it and that's why their fans are kinda cult-like.

In all, great session but the "Naija obsession, the obsession" (smh) keeps rearing its head and I find it embarrassing for you guys really. You have been told by different people in various ways about Naija vibes, Naija spirit, Naija lifestyle, Naija struggle, 'Nigerianness' in short makes us who we are yet you are not satisfied. You keep poking the experts in this industry. Wetin happen? While it is supposed to be flattery, the envy that sips out from some of you while at it leaves an envious feel which is toxic. Otherwise, very insightful session if only Ghanaians will be satisfied. ( If e didn't dey, e didn't dey.) Know this and have peace. (No be by force.)
