Rory do you plan to put duals on Big D. Great recovery that guy seemed very grateful. I mean you could stick a Chevy big block when the engine goes.

That truck needs a LOT of love, but yeah, it could be AWESOME after they do a lot of suspension work, engine, and transmission/transfer case work, and throw the duals back on!

@barrynelson634 Yeah Ford big blocks are quite capable, and to swap out the engine would almost require replacing the entire drive train! Owned several Ford Pickups over the decades, never a complaint, unlike some of the old Chevy square bodies my Dad owned! They were pretty good AFTER all the factory faults were remedied, except for the soft camshaft one of them had! Cams really ought last longer than 100,000 miles!

@firemaniac Жыл бұрын
Accessories galore for the wheel lift, 3 immediately came to mind. Like you said, a motorcycle cradle for the bikes that had a little more adventure than planned. A 'frame fork' kind of set-up for the IFS rigs (Tacoma's, Broncos, etc.) that might have busted suspension arms, or ball joints. A set of spades to really dig in and take advantage of that hydraulic pulling grunt when need be.

Nice over the bank recovery truck. I totally see the value in a long stick over the edge for better pulling. Brings back memories of my firewood skidding days with my "jammer". ( 68 Chevy 3/4 ton truck mounted log boom powerplant/winch with frictions to yard the firewood up from steep canyons.) It worked like a poor man's Link Belt Yarder. I even skidded a dead bull moose from a creek bottom once. 600 feet of 3/8 cable powered by a 231 V6 thru a SM465 with sprocket reduction was an effective way to fill a road with wood logs. I really need to get some videos posted from the VHS tapes back then.
