Looks like the Prime 2 (as well as the Go and 5000) also got the ability to display more tracks at once, sadly you ignored/missed the button. So far only the 10" display devices had this. Nice!

Hi there, nice video. I myself is thinking of purchasing the prime go, or prime 4, and or sc6000 media player and as well as the x1850 mixer. My question to you is what format does the drive have to be to use with engine software and being able to play the files on the denon prime go.

Hi Aaron I 'took the plunge' a couple of months ago and purchased a Prime Go and was really looking forward to replacing my old MC600 MkII workhorse but I have to admit I am really struggling to get to grips with loading tracks the Engine software on my PC and syncing them with a 512gb Micro SD card which I bought to slot into the front of the Prime Go. From a number of other posts in the Denon FB groups I don't think I'm alone in thinking that currently the Engine software is the 'weak link' as far as the new Prime series of controllers is concerned. What are the chances of giving us a look at how you manage adding, removing and syncing tracks using the engine software please. I appreciate that your laptop is a MAC but the process should be pretty much the same as on a PC yeah? Thanks buddy Keep aking the great videos here on KZbin DJ Gaz (United Kingdom)

That's something I can do. I would agree that having to use Engine to load tracks, sync to a card/stick is a cumbersome step that other DJ software/hardware users don't have to do. I'm actually trying to find a way to streamline my workflow (especially with over 50 events this year). Once I get that locked in, I'll make a video.

You scrub through a song by turning the browse knob for beat increments then hold shift button down while turning browse knob and it will jump by the best increments you just set. Otherwise pause song and then press beat grid in the area you want to jump to.

I have been a mobile DJ for 30 years and I am considering purchasing the Denon DJ PRIME 4 unit. Mind you I have never used a controller before. Is this too much of a unit to start with?? Thoughts!!!

I think so, maybe start with the Prime 2, or to get your feet wet, if you want to go Engine try the new Numark Mixstream.

i did the update to my prime 4 setup this weekend at a show i played for 2 days ...pretty smooth...but a few times in which it has never happened to me before, my main screen froze up for like 30 secs or so locking me out of screen function. i hope it was just something stupid i did and doesnt come back to haunt me. have you ever ran into this?? dj lunchmeat

I thought engine software was competing with rekordbox but it doesn’t feel ready yet. I’ll try the prime to see if using the way it’s meant to is intuitive but I’m gonna miss my screens

@@italoman couple of ways. Connect your prime 2 to Wi-Fi and it should automatically ask you to update. Then you can choose to do it through your laptop or over the web (directly on the unit). I put a link at the top of the comments that helps more. Enjoy you’re Prime 2!

Thank you for the update! One question, when one buys a song on a DJ pool, the bpm is already in the metadata, even though is not analyzed by the unit. Can you see the bpm in folder 📁 view without having analyzed the songs?

Are you asking if you can see the BPM without using a DJ software? I don’t think you can do that

@@AaronStrawn I’m sorry. I don’t think I properly explained myself. When you get a song from a DJ pool, the song already has a bpm in its metadata. Normally without analyzing the song, you can see the bpm in Serato or Rekordbox without having to analyze it. In my prime go or prime 2, in folder view, even if it has the bpm in its metadata you cannot see the bpm in folder view, in the previous version. You have to analyze the song in order to see the bpm. In this new version, can you see the bpm in folder mode, in the prime go or prime 2 without analyzing the song? Obviously to test that, you need to have a flash drive with songs not analyzed that already have the bpm in its metadata…

I installed engine 2 on my mac and tried to export a playlist for work all seemed well the software appeared to export to a flash drive I put it in the Prime Go. The Prime Go no music on the flash drive can be seen on the Go no crates or playlists. I had to go back to version 1.6 Engine Prime all worked fine, i just wasted a day on this😩
