If you can make it, I'd recommend the quarry Master pick. It's really good at mining and also can mine anything regardless of tier. Since you can only have one master work item, that might be the best one. As for lighting, you should have found a helmet with a lamp on it in the work bench so that'll help with light although for battle you'll have to switch to something else 😅

I completely agree. So far I'm only in Dwarrowdelf but the torch is meh, the shield is great as it never breaks but rolling in this game has so many s that is just better and the keg is for mp, thus the quarrymaster is simply the best masterwork so you don't have to "waste" resources on different pickaxes

You could try building walls with a door and then just leave the guard drake in place to fight off the spiders and orks.

I encountered a interesting glitch while creating my new pack. Once I created my new pack the old pack just disappeared....no where to be found. I lost everything in the old pack, including: 35-meat, 5-black diamonds, newest forging hammer and many other items. Thankfully all of my weapons, including my level 4 pick axe, where in my lower bar.

Loving the series - Your videos line up with where I am in the game too! Just wish I was having more luck finding the points to input the statues and the ranger pages. Have loads of them but yet to find where to deposit them - any tips on finding them? I thought I'd explored everywhere, but maybe I'm just blind.

For the ranger camps look for the little green stones on the ground. Has helped me in at least one occurance. I've been lucky (after the first one) as they were pretty obvious in my save. The carvings has been way more random. I realized when editing this video that I'd walked right by the one in Dwarrowdelf and didn't even notice it at the time. Seems like they can be anywhere!

Your character tells you when your using a lower tier weapon that is ineffective against enemies. I’ve been watching your episodes and you got that sword two great forges ago. I know you like it and sure keep it for the weak no armor goblins. But your carrying around that pole arm you got at the last completed forge which is made of higher tier resources and therefore better. USE IT!!! Lol

He did use the pole arm against the drake last episode, and it was just as ineffective.

Crossbow is effective against the drake The drake respawns by the way. I had that and got scared 😂

I want to be excited because I love LOTR and dwarves.... but this game looks like a janky early access... not a fully released game that justifies its price.

I would recommend holding off for the big patch coming in December. There's supposed to be a ton of quality life improvements coming. It's definitely not been a big free experience...

I don't know where you are but the game was not full price for me, it was only $30 and for that I'd say it is worth it. More than that and yeah you should hold off on it for a bit. I will say though that the game feels very janky in the starting areas but for the mid areas it does feel crisp, poor optimization no doubt as it barely tickles the resources on my PC. But for Tolkien fans this game is amazing just for the story and the lore alone
