At this point I was so frustrated and angry that I'm a little bit ashamed to say that I started to dish it back to him. Not my proudest moment, but he'd really mentally damaged me by this point. Got me fired from my job... Convinced key people that I was crazy... I worked for a non-profit and he wanted me to quit my job to stay home. He was retired military. He decided to volunteer as a fundraiser for my organization. He went around the entire state fundraising as an excuse to talk to people about me behind my back (I found out later)... Character assassination. He'd show up and invite my boss to lunch _without_ me! Anyway, by the time I left I'd gotten back my dignity and _he_ was broken...

He will also chastise me for apparently being loud when his friends are obnoxious. He also thinks he’s better and smarter than everyone else, including his own mother. It was mentally exhausting to be with him because I have no idea what will set him off. The last straw was when he told me he wanted me to change my personality because he doesn’t like it. When you've been broken for so long, seeing things clearly can be very hard. I have experienced feeling like nobody loves you and would get attached to the people that would give me a minimum of attention, no matter if they were toxic or not, it was even worse with broken souls, trying to repair them and defending them while they were stabbing me in the back. Liz probably feels like nobody loves her and Ed is the only person that has ever loved her because he made her feel seen and heard. It's hard to get away from someone like that, especially if your self-esteem is so low. She probably loves him and that's why she's so blind to the situation. People can keep saying how bad he is for her, but the louder voice will be Ed. He really has his nasty little claws deep into her skin and it is scary to see. It makes me sad to see how he's getting away with being such a toxic pos, trying to normalize his actions by trying to gaslight her. Noticed how he kept saying that everyone was against him without bring up why they were. I really can't wait for this little gremlin to become irrelevant so we can all move on from him.

Not to mention Liz has a whole crew of people following her around normalizing the abuse that is happening to her. Big Ed seems to love disruptions in relationships. He gets off having fights and gets an adrenalin rush from creating these problems. He wants total control over any relationship. He was worried Rose had friends online and was friends with other people. He was worried about her ex partner and that Rose might see other potential partners online or in life. The same is occurring now with Liz. Ed needs full control over Liz's life, be it with her employment or work colleagues and his desire she doesn't interact nor socialise with them.
@toriglitters2 жыл бұрын
Yup. And then he gets bored once he gets control and then dumps her.
@darter812 жыл бұрын
Yup, he appears to want total control of “his women” in order to minimize any chance of losing them, and unfortunately that means he goes after women he thinks will need to be financially and/or emotionally dependent on him. And when they aren’t dependent enough for his liking (and desire for control), he ups the stakes and requires that they move in (Liz) and not go out with friends/talk to people and work less or not work at all. That way he holds the cards and if she does something he doesn’t like, he knows he can pull the “OK move out” card and leave her stranded, just like he did.

U could use this in psych class as a lesson in textbook narcissistic abuse. Gaslighting 101. Liz is a victim. She doesn’t understand what’s happening to her. I hope she gets free of him & gets therapy. BTW Everything u threw down was on point, as was your Penguin reference. I was dead ❤
@KagomeYasha0232 жыл бұрын
I think she understands cause she’s been through it before unless they just completely dropped her without her being the one to leave and understand eventually what’s crazy is you can understand you’re in a bad relationship eventually and still have a hard time getting out. Happens all the time you will know you’re in one eventually but getting out is the hard part.

I had just started watching your videos and I have to say this is my favorite. You have nailed everything. And with things you have said I've been thru it. My ex cheated on me lied about our relationship and thought he was hot shit cuz he worked out and made money. Well I was taking care of him when he lost his job. That relationship was so toxic I almost ended my life. He wasn't worth it. Now I'm dating my best friend who I knew since 2014. He is perfect. He's not rich but he's loyal and faithful. And I'm not sure if Liz just doesn't wanna see the fact that it'll never work or she doesn't wanna admit it. So she keeps trying and trying. Men like him don't deserve 12 more chances. I'm sure the whole world has seen his true self and it's ugly. Very ugly.

"I don't remember I cheated" and "no. 1, I don't lie." Are the EXACT words my abusive ex used to say. I stayed with that disgusting person for 3 years, just because naive me thought things will change, and that he doesn't lie (since he's told me every time he's cheated on me, right after he went out on a date with someone). But the day I finally caught him right in his lie, only because he finally told me the truth when he was too drunk to lie, I finally gave up fighting for the relationship. A few weeks after that, we broke up. Seeing Liz going through all this, I wish to help her in some way or another. But also as someone who made the same mistakes of going back so many times, I know no one can help her get out, other than herself. I only hope she gets the help and proper support she needs, to finally see her own self worth to get out of that hell of a relationship.

I am glad that people are calling him what he is. I was in the same boat as Liz at one point. It's funny because I would watch her and be like....wtf is wrong with you? Then I found myself in a narcissistic situation and found myself asking myself the same damn shit I was yelling at her. It was really humbling. As to anyone asking how you would put up with it, the abuse gets to the point where you've been gaslit so much, you're not sure what you're seeing is even real. You end up apologizing for THEIR behavior and it's like watching yourself like a movie. In the back of your mind, you do know how shitty it is, but you feel physically chained. Cognitive dissonance is such a pain in the ass to break once you're sucked in. As an aside, Ed not validating her at all then deflecting and flipping the script on her is so triggering because it's what I went through.

Liz has massive Daddy issues. Her father walked out on the family when Liz was young. She is reliving that situation with Little Ed. I love your pep talks. I find them so comforting... You have such a high level vibration, such good energy. I was once trapped in a trauma bonded toxic relationship with someone like Ed, on and off for years, he was a Covert Narcissist and I have BPD, but I treated my problems with DBT and many years of therapy, eventually learning how to love myself and to let go of those who don't, knowing I deserved better. I improved myself, while he stood still. In any case I find all your validating observations about their relationship highly comforting. You remind me of friends I once lost, except for that you would have been a Real friend who stayed. You are a good man. May the universe grant you all your wishes! Thanks for everything Nick.

This is how abusive relationships start. First, lovebimbing. Then, keeping her from her friends by telling them they don’t want us to be happy. They want to break us up. Then…alienate her from her family. And it goes downhill from there unless she can break the cycle.

No matter what she does, the cast and supporters will give her tons of affection and positive reinforcement. The last relationship advice that you gave🖤 I’m going through a horrible breakup, we were together for five years. He has depression and PTSD, I was with him when he was at his lowest. He had liver cancer, I used to cry like a little girl begging my friends to pray for him. He’s cured now, told me three weeks ago that he doesn’t love me anymore because I got jealous of his sister. He gave her so much attention and love, with me he was so cold and blames his depression. Its so hard that I couldn’t even talk about it, even through text. This is the first time and it’s in a KZbin comment. Thank you🖤
