I'm literally sowing almost everything you have here today. I've already done my statice and want more. 😊 Oh wow, it germinated so fast. So did my stock. I'm doing soil blocking this year. I bought the 3/4 inch and 2in. I love it so much that I bought the 1 1/2 inch blocker. I'm totally hooked. You can save so much space and sow hundreds of plants. It's not at all hard at all. Most ppls mistake is not getting their soil wet enough. I watched so many tutorials on it that I was a pro my first try.😂 I love not having all those plastic pots and cell trays. I bought some cafeteria trays on Amazon that work perfectly. They hold 240 3/4 in blocks. Its alot of fun too, at least for me. I like that kind of tedious work. I sat there with my toothpick and planted hundreds of snapdragons. I had a bit of a headache, tho bc the seeds are so tiny.😂 Thanks for sharing.❤

What size trays did you get? I just got a soil blocker but don’t have trays yet. Thanks!

Have you thought about soil blocking? It gives you so much more space.

I was researching soil blockers today! I think I may need to do the rest of my seedlings in soil blocks this year

I am curious about your ranunculus, where did you get it so early in the season? I have some on order, but they won't be here for at least another week. I would like to plan for earlier next year.

I order ranunculus this time of year and they are shipped to me in the fall.

Also if you cut the center stalk off , it will branch for smaller flowers for bouquets on the spike varieties . also I trim bottom branches off to make them into topiaries in my garden, gorgeous.f

Thank you so much. Great video. Curious? Do you pot all of those up? With hundreds of seedlings, where do you find the space on your shelves with lights?
@SunshineFlora

I don’t pot them all up. Most will get planted out from the seed trays.

Yep...starting the end of my seeds...cept the zinnias, orlaya. I do mostly jar bouquets for market, so I don't really need the longer stems/papers. I put xtra lissie bouquets in floral buckets. I'll sucession some zinnias for the end of season. Using pt./qt. jars and recycling things. HOOPHOUSE!!! it's happening!!

Thank you for sharing your starting dates. Just wondering - couldn't you safely move ranunculus into your greenhouse? That would give you one shelf for sure - maybe two.

I’m growing a lot of dried flowers this year. I made a wreath and loved it. It takes a lot of flowers, lol. I’m trying soil blocking for the first time. I like it but it depends on the size of the seed if I use that method or plant them in cell trays. Look forward to seeing all your flowers.

Is morning glory invasive in your area? It goes absolutely bananas here where I live in Virginia and I am battling it in my yard and flowerbeds. I am dreading it this year. It comes over from my neighbor’s yard. :(

So exciting to see all the seed starting! However, you may regret planting morning glory! It has beautiful flowering vines but very invasive and hard to get rid of. Wisteria or Clematis are very good for trellising.

I have grown it in the past and it was not for me. I just ripped it out and it was ok!
