Just an fyi, I think they are working hard to improve the NNI Practitioner program by creating the NNI Coaching Academy. I attended the first one and it was so very helpful for me as a new practitioner as it went into more practical details both for understanding IBC but also building a business in this space. Enjoyed this conversation!! Thank you!

The other thing at 54:00, if you pull the money out of the high yield savings you lose the compounding while the money is being paid back. So you don’t only have a problem with a lack of guarantee, but also the drag of pulling the money out.

@ ? I’m referring to pulling your money out of a high yield savings. When you do that to pay for debt, or investments, or anything else, you lose the compounding of the interest while the money is absent from the account. You could certainly still benefit if you decide to recapture the savings, or profits from whatever you used the money for back into that account. But you can’t beat the compounding of money you used elsewhere at the same time.

Two of my favorite people in this space. I actually got turned onto IBC from a short video Chris put out a couple of years ago and Caleb I have followed you ever since just shortly after that. You have had some absolute rockstar guest on before (One I’m personal friends with) but this is one of my absolute favorite episodes. I love and appreciate you guys being raw and real and honest! I’m not gonna lie I was wondering the same question he asked you at the end about taking the NNI test and becoming an authorized practitioner and I actually loved and appreciated your honest answer. That being said the “bonus update” at the end had me so fired up because I know you will come into that group and provide such an awesome and heartfelt contribution to unite and make it even better all while honoring Nelson and those you all serve. Thanks again to both of you and God Bless y’all BIG!

A mortgage is not great because it introduces a way/risk to lose your home. When it is gone there is a weight lifted from your shoulders and, probably, a big chunk of your monthly expenses goes away.

Pardon my ignorance. I’m trying to understand what the end game is. Understand the value of the cash policy, spread on borrowing, and unfettered compounding, and paying yourself the interest. My questions is when and how can you extract dollars free and clear? Is it through the dividend payment?
@stephengilstrap2 ай бұрын
you loan the dollars out.
@dq71432 ай бұрын
After a certain period of time, your deposits build your cash value / dividends in the policy. You will soon be able to withdraw that amount at a certain time without penalty. However, it is to the policyholder's advantage to allow that money to stay in the account to generate compound interest. Instead, you can withdraw from the policy by taking out a policy loan. The simple interest that the mutual fund charges is a little more than the amount of interest that you are generating on your cash value - but to your benefit, you are getting compounded interest.

Hey Caleb, I just wanted to thank you for your content and valuable info that you share concerning IBC. With that being said, I understand IBC is a process that uses WL insurance with innumerable possibilities. For those of us who are new to this concept and do not have a particular goal or investment opportunity or project, but see the value in parking our savings in this kind of policy. Do you have advice on what would be some safe investments to start the IBC process? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Caleb, I vacillate on the mortgage… paying off the mortgage is like the flip side to having an annuity, i.e. lower net variable household budget… a lower household budget translates to a lower need for a liquid reserve multiple / volatility buffer. I’ve arrived at the conclusion to eliminate mortgage on personal home, as opposed to investment property. It’s not the first priority, but it’s a priority in so much as to lower liquidity requirement

Interesting conversation. I’m confused about the 30 year mortgage question though. I think you were saying 30 year mortgages are awesome because of the long term low fixed interest rate. I don’t think you were saying you thought people should pay off their mortgage using their insurance policy but I think Chris thought that’s what you were saying. You were saying the opposite, right?

Great information, as always. I am on "on the fence" regarding using 30-year mortgages as a tool.....Am I way off here? What about velocity banking/IBC combo on paying the first 7-8 year's mortgage payments (perhaps a minimal initial downpayment)? Aren't you then skipping the initial "mound" of amortized loan interest? Then paying back the loan against the whole life at a more advantageous loan structure and also losing years on your 30-year mortgage? You are losing the mortgage interest deduction but gaining control of your money and minimizing interest. 1st Lien HELOC type program? Curious on thoughts.

I love whole life. I’m an insurance wholesaler and teach insurance concepts etc. I worked at NYL at this same time and they were always ALWAYS whole life. They had UL, but never promoted UL or VUL over WL, especially describing it as a Final Expense policy. If you know their comp plan, retirement plan and managers compensation plan, you would know that would never happen.

Caleb, can you weigh in on “loan recognition”? The guy I’ve been learning about IBC from just told me (or maybe I just heard him) that the insurance co will offset all but something like .65% of any policy loan in first ten years…after that they offset 100%. This was rather shocking actually as I hadn’t understood this from anything else related to IBC that I’d come across. Are you familiar with this? If so, How does this offset work? What’s the catch?

Since this is a long term strategy and you guys seem to be speaking to people in 20, 30, and even 40s, do you think there is an age cutoff to invest in this type of system? I am 57 and do not have life insurance now. I did have term life insurance when my kids were little. I have a lot of experience in insurance and this is not something they teach at all. I would love to have your thoughts on starting this type of system in your 50s.
@Michael-vc2csКүн бұрын
I’m not one of the guys on the video or a salesman but you can definitely either get set up yourself or on someone you know who is eligible if you’re not. Considering this strategy is much like a banking alternative to give you greater control over your money, it’s really something you can start using any time. Then you can design policy loans to go towards investments and earn dollars in two places. You probably already know not to let someone random set this up also.
@leonkingjr3 ай бұрын
I have watched the entire podcast interview and have a serious question regarding the math (bc it doesn’t lie): If you take a loan from your policy at a 5% interest rate, yet you earn 3% in your policy, how do you justify losing 2% right off the bat? I understand that you can take the funds from that loan and use them to go and purchase an appreciating or cash-flowing asset with a higher return - which is the best use of those funds in most cases - and I also understand that borrowing from yourself at 5% vs taking a bank loan at 7% to buy a vehicle is better…but what about when the bank loan rate is 3 or 4%? Even if you were 100% your own bank where 100% of your income goes in and you only take out what you need to pay your bills, how does the math make sense when you are earning 3% and borrowing (paying) 5% on the money you borrow? (I understand that compound interest wins over time, however it is mentioned in the interview that whole life is better than IUL for short term plays, so I am looking for greater explanation of why.)
@Michael-vc2csКүн бұрын
You’re correct, the math doesn’t lie. Chris actually does go into the math on his channel to show the actual numbers, compounded vs. simple interest. Especially at 3% compared to 5%, the 3% compounded wins convincingly. If that number goes higher because the insurance company is more profitable that year and you get higher dividends, forget it! But on top of that, you get that compounding on the full amount even if you borrow from the policy and invest some percentage of those funds elsewhere, earning money in two places at once.
