My bathroom was a bit smaller with the toilet in the shower but same 2 door access. difference was the front for obvious reasons the driving but i did have a drop down bed above the two front seats.. I personally customized it myself... I sooo miss it... Ty

This is a very nice fifth wheel. I have never seen a bunk house big like that. It has a lot of space. It’s very nice. The storage is great. Nice size bath room.

We own this model and love it! We have lived in it full-time since May. There have been no major issues to date. This unit appealed to us because of its layout that allows us to have a complete separate living/sleeping area that isn't a cramped traditional bunkhouse. We don't have young kids and our College age children can sleep and relax in their own space very comfortably. The 1/2 bath is a must and the storage is envied by any other RV owners we encounter. This is a large 5th wheel. We find it has held up well to towing, at first we thought the entertainment arrangement in the kitchen was going to be odd, but it works well (our unit has the table and stadium seat option). We simple move the stadium seats at an angle when watching the kitchen area tv. But we find watching tv or movies int he front room much better. so far have survived a brutally hot summer of more than three months of 95+ degree heat, and more than 30 inches of torrential rain with no issues. Pros: massive storage 5 deep slides Plenty of cabinetry solid construction Tons of lighting Front room flexibility No carpet in main room slide Self leveling and support arms are great PVC roof Great insulation compared to other models Cons Main bedroom could use second slide for closet space having dual dump locations is hassle Awning is too big for the fragile support arms it broke first day and not warranted Default Furrion sound-bars are weak Could use a better gas stove

My husband and I bought a 2017 Open Range Light LF297RLS 2017 32ft 5th wheel. We lived in it for 4 months waiting for our new home to be finished. We love it. We use it for couples camping but have had four people living in it for a few weeks comfortably. If you have grand kids also they can sleep in the recliners and it will then sleep 6. The floor plan has worked fantastically for us. Everyone says on KZbin expect something to go wrong on any new RV. We have had ours 2yrs now and no problems of any kind. Maybe we are just lucky this time. We have a Thousand Trails basic camping package and TRY to take our RV out once a month. The quality is standard for the price we paid but we have taken good care of what we have and still looks great. We replaced the shower head for a better one. That is the only thing we have done so far to our Open Range. We have looked at supposed "higher quality" interiors and notice most on the surface they put on a good show but are not worth the many dollars more for still standard quality and sub-standard floor plans. Even after looking at new expensive RVs we are very happy with ours and have no desire to move up into another. Jayco now owns the Highland Ridge factory which builds them. We had an 18ft Jayco trailer and was not unhappy with it but it was not quality either. The refridge would not keep things cold on hot days. The sensors in the black and grey tanks stopped working. The inverter went out. Hopefully Jayco does not break what is not broken when it comes to the Open Range.

We have a 2016 (very slightly used but new to us) Highland ridge version of this floorplan and LOVE it! We are about to hit the road full-time very soon. We have been doing tons of mods on the camper though to make it more to suit our needs as full-time family of two homeschooling kids. I'll have to make a video some time of our mods. What I really loved about this unit is having the LR/Den space where it can not be "just" a bunk room, it's a family room/den as well. We can all sit in there comfortably and hang out. Or during the day it's more comfy for the kids than typical bunk rooms. Plus the half bath was a must. It does have some oddities and there is much I would rather have had them do in this if I had the choice and again we did a lot of renovation/modding on ours already but it was worth it. And the storage is bar none! absolutely immense storage capacity. I can't wait to hit the road soon! I'll update once we are living in it fully and on the road.

What I also like about Open Range RV is that all their roofs are PVC and not TPO or some other type of rubber membrane that collects that algae. That leaves black streaks down the side of your RV. After spending a couple of years looking at all the RV manufacturers. We kept going back to the Open Range and the Grand Design. In the end we went with the Grand Design Reflection 337RLS it best suited our needs. You should take a look at the Grand Design Solitudes. The fit and finish made me say wow! I would like to know your opinion on them.

Well that just isn't so neither of us were born with a silver spoon in our mouths and our noses are not elevated any higher than anyone else's. We both still enjoy watching your videos and looking at other RV's regardless of their price. This seems to be a very interesting layout as you stated and quite a lot of coach for the sale price or for that matter even its Retail Price. If only this floorplan could be done as a travel trailer, minus the huge upper storage in the rear and including the triple propane setup, it'd be gold. Maybe they'll do that for 2021, fingers crossed.

@eca26416 жыл бұрын
J P yes I think you could get to do that without a tv. Bring the baby. You'll figure it out and they'll enjoy nature all on their own accord with their built in "curiosity program" that comes automatically, for no extra charge, most every time you bring a baby home. It also develops and expands with time and exposure to the outdoors (also no charge and no long downloading times). 🤔It's super neat how it works out, though, you do have to make sure they don't put everything in their lil mouths but, what day of the week and location do you not do that at those ages? I do understand adult time however and yes, a tv is a fairly trusted babysitter. No shame in that when you need your time to recharge. But please, yes, take them fishing with you most times you go. Anything to get them experiencing nature and family bonding time. 🌸 At least in my honest opinion and experience.

I would love to see someone pickup a motorcycle and out it into that back storage. It would for sure get old very quick. Even better would be seeing a couple loading an tab into it. I don’t recommend anyone think of this unit as a toy hauler. Otherwise it’s an incredible floor plan that you aren’t likely to run into very often. Great video!! I also own an Open Range. I have a 2017 308BHS and we scoured the market place for a unit that was high in quality but didnt have the rigid/"snooty" feel as some of the higher end coaches/trailers have at higher price points. Open range products are definitely not the dollar cheaper RV but they are the dollar better RV. At the end of this camping season, I think we are going to sell our 308BHS and upgrade to a fifth wheel and I am 95% sure its going to be a Highland Ridge/Open Range product.
@AdventuringToday6 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree with your comment...they are not the dollar cheaper but they are the dollar better. You definitely get what you pay for in the world of RV's and in my mind the Highland Ridge products deliver in a way most other brands fall behind. We had our in 0 degree (lows were 0 and highs were 15-20) temps with wind chills at -20 and I was only hooked up to a 15 amp service...I used the furnace at 60 degree and 2 small ceramic heaters and we all stayed nice and warm for those 5 days. We got 17 inches of snow also. No frost or cold spots in the unit. The 4 seasons package worked flawlessly.

Very nice rig indeed. I noticed they committed the unpardonable design sin on this one too. The handles for dumping the tanks require duck walking under the slide to access. They are on flexible cables, come on guys!! The other thing I always required in our coaches is raised panel cabinetry, for this price range it should have it. The plywood panels will always rattle when using the cabinet doors eventually. But I still give it a two thumbs up for layout and other features.

I like the design space idea and storage areas but the interior of this RV is very dated and too brown. The couches are kind of ugly. This is just my opinion. The walls look like they are from a 1970 RV. I like the interior designs I see from the Leisure Travel Van Unity model and I also like the designs I see in the AirStreams. They are of a modern look which I like and would look great in this 5th Wheeler. RV manufactures need to use creative interior design firms to update their interiors. Problem is most companies have internal designers which limits the quality of their interiors. Even if the price point was higher I would be OK with it.

You have a point but you can still get a 4-6 year old Leisure Travel Van at a greatly reduced price. I just think the RV industry is stuck in a 70’s-80’s time warp with their RV designs. You can still update an RV inexpensively using different materials and colors that are more up to date.
