When a tiny house has a bigger kitchen than your flat 😂 Not too mention way better appliances. Sigh. Very tastefully done - nice example that a ‚tiny house‘ is an option, even if you want a home that feels more like a conventional house and not too...‘experimental‘.

Rara Avis and I remember years ago when these (ones not so fancy) came out to help the homeless , homeless vets , low income , fixed income people, that couldn't afford a home or rents for run down over priced appartments, but of course real assate had to scoop the idea up and turn it into overpriced new option for the middle class, who would like it at first then tired of it or see them as as "camp"or worse, buy them and rent them out at high prices that hud wouldn't help the poor get into,. It could have helped the poor to not have to live in what I call "sardine can" run down overpriced appartment buildings.but I wouldn't expect this country to do anything humane for the poor but programs that lock you into poverty while cadering to the middle class with multiple options.hope there's a place in hell for realistors
@Human-shapedbeing6 жыл бұрын
@@cherimerchant6883 They did not. One of the first tiny houses was built by a middle aged single woman who was tired of being in debt and most others by a man named Jay Shafer (the guy who started Tumbleweed) because he loved small spaces. AFTER tiny houses became popular people began to consider this as an option to combat the homeless issue in the US but realized that it wasnt practical or a realistic solution.
@Human-shapedbeing6 жыл бұрын
@@cherimerchant6883 So you're crazy? OK 👍 but tiny houses are not pratical for the homeless. Homeless people, as most people do, have individual needs. Some are single, some are couples, some have family's, some have lots of stuff that they want to keep etc! You can't just cram them all into tiny houses and expect them to be as happy as people who choose to live in tiny spaces. Maybe a homeless person just wants a normal house or apartment. Ever consider that?
@moewilson46056 жыл бұрын
Cheri Merchant now the middle class are part of the problem? We are hoarders are we? I detect some jealousy on your part. For a healthy society we are suppose to have a large middle class. The problem is not the middle class, but that the middle class is shrinking. If you want to blame someone, please blame the uber wealthy that control 99% of the world’s wealth. The reason people are homeless is more complicated than just blaming others who are able to get their crap together, work hard, save and live a good lifestyle. Homeless often have drug and alcohol issues, health issues in the USA that have bankrupted them, grief over loss of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job etc... Some simply do not want to work and choose this lifestyle. It is the middle class paying the majority of the taxes that support many programs helping the poor.

I've evolved on my perspectives of "tiny" houses. Initially i was a bit of a pureist, in that when you start getting too big on wheels, it defeated the purpose. But, I've evolved. This was well designed. I like the rounded windows, although that's not something I'd choose for myself. But i love the number of them. And she's right, the tiny house on Wheels feel entirely different than any of the RVs. Not dissing them. Just saying, they FEEL different.

It’s really nice but I like the more traditional TINY tiny homes. 😁 I really love those really small ones...I just think they’re really cute and I like how the owners strategize and get really creative in making the best use of the space. 👍🏽
@janetcolmenero82785 жыл бұрын
I love seeing those too, Sean, but personally they're too small for me. I'll be downsizing from a 1700+ sq. ft. house to a park model in a year or so. I'll be living in a tiny home community, not traveling in it. It's going to mean getting rid of at least 80% of what I own . . . that's going to be a huge change!
@SeanShimamoto5 жыл бұрын
Janet Colmenero Honestly, I just think I like the idea ‘cause the grass is always greener on the other side...I live in a 6-bedroom 3-bath house with my bro and his wife...so I always feel like there’s so much room everywhere in the house. LOL.
@janetcolmenero82785 жыл бұрын
@@SeanShimamoto That sounds like a huge house. I have three bedrooms, two baths, and live alone, so mine is way more than I need or use. Plus, I don't have any kids and you can't take it with you. If something happened to me right now, my family would have all my junk to deal with. At least once I downsize, it wouldn't be so much of a burden on them. Not knocking anyone with too much stuff because I've been guilty my entire life . . . and I love pretty things. But at this point I feel like I'm drowning in it. I can't wait to pare down! My tiny house will have a lot of artwork and such on the walls -- I love color and art, and it's going to have high ceilings. But not all of the clutter that I have lying around right now.

I love the round windows! I like the sink with the window over it. I like the deck. I like the on demand hot water heater. I like that there is a bedroom on the main floor. I like that the appliances can be easily replaced because they are standard. Very pretty house, but it's more like a small cottage. I like having windows opposite each other on all sides for cross-ventilation. I like having tons of insulation on all sides, floor and roof. I would add rainwater collection, overhanging eaves to keep rain off the windows and siding, solar panels, composting toilet, folding mini staircase, egress windows to the roof, a mini wood burning stove, a second door that divides in half, a super insulated refrigerator, shutters for the windows, a pass through window to the outside. I love the look of this design, but it seems like they chose a lot of things that are very heavy, like the countertops. It looks expensive and hard to drive and park. I wonder how much preparation it takes to keep things from sliding around while it's moving. I think traveling homes do great if they are designed like a boat. Except the water is on top (rain). They need to be designed to move. This cottage looks like it is designed to be set in place and not move again until it changes owners. If that is the case, you might as well design it without the wheels, and have it be a prefabricated house that when you want it moved, you call a semi and put it on that. If it's for camping, or taking on hunting trips, I think it could look a bit more rustic, and less suburban. But I do like the whitewashed walls and bright interior.
