Hi Josh I’m saying this first part with joy in my heart Please don’t disrespect any of your tool by throwing the around treat them like a loved one. Now let’s get into the meat and potatoes when using your impact tools use the shortest extension possible because you lose torque the longer they are. When going into a pile or mound of material try back blading from the top to loosen it up makes it easier to scoop up and easier on equipment. THE END sorry about the novel it was only be a short story.

Hey Josh, a little food for thought I think, leaving that rock on that concrete could possibly cause damage to that watering tank that rock being pushed into that plastic rather than off. I think it would be best rock removed off pad. To prevent any damage to your very nice expensive watering tanks. ❤😊

The OCD in me would have had to scrap that gravel off of the concrete pad LOL, and slope it away. I think the skid steer would have been better for this in IMO. just so you could run over the base a little for some initial packing. Just wondering if gravel in hooves would be an issue. Little electric tractor seems to be doing a pretty good job. Also wondering how much charge you had to begin with, and where the charge was when you finished, Just to give an idea of how long you cold use it.

How much time have you gained since you switched to the Honda from the Kubota? We have a Kubota and I bought a Kawasaki Mule. So much nicer for moving around the farm. Listening to the electric tractor would take some time to adjust to electric noise. Yea, no noise except hydraulics noise. It is amazing how far down it drops around your water pad. Always something to do on the farm. Be safe out there.

If you notice that the cattle continue pushing the gravel into the ground you may want to consider putting geotextile fabric down before the rock. Holding the ball back for calves is a nice feature! I don't believe my Ritchie waterers can do that.

Blue tractor seemed able to do this job. It looks cheaply made from the closer pictures of the bucket and loader. Very little lift height either. Comparing it to a kioti ck series. Good luck with the new tail gate. Seems straight forward but hard to imagine using hinges and not having gaps. Maybe consider a gate that slides in and out of channels. Did that with my trailer and I am really happy with it. It only dumps when I take it off the ball hitch.

Neat fit & fix we call that pit run in pacific NW. It's interesting how different parts of country have different names for construction things. There is a tail gate cup and pin slide that is also available for tailgates if you could get a set of those they fit of far insides of truck beds sides down low and same opposing sides of tail gates lower insides; if you had one of those and a couple of flat steel that remove and bend like an elbow they come off and back on well and work great it would be a great fix for your tail gate situation. Perhaps a wrecking yard or a truck parts catalog might be able to set you up with a set of removable hinges and a set of limiting bed arms that are made to remove when you don't want a tailgate might be the best fix to set your dump bed up. Also it looks to me like a peice of steel and some square steel kind of like a tow set up and your welder you're smart I think you could figure a fix for what is happening to the top lip of your tail gate, pound and weld it up right and think of a way to put a pin in tow receptacle where the ball goes but it stops the tail gate from getting crunched, I believe Josh you can think of a way to fix this so it doesn't happen again consider a solution to fix that. Best David

You could put a metal plate on the tailgate where it bangs on the hitch receiver, spreading the force over a much greater area of the softer aluminum. And then bang or file the aluminum to get rid of the sharp edges.

Hey Josh, be careful with putting rock that size around cattle and concrete. It can easily bruise there hooves, cause a 1200 pound or more critter stepping on a little rock with no give underneath can do damage. I just don't want your whole herd having foot problems.

Well actually me and my family have been farmers for 7 generations and we as a family have seen and experienced just about everything. There have been cattle on our farm for 4 generations and sheep and horses before that. I can assure you that the possibility of damaging your cows " feet" in this situation with rock on cement is risky. I've been there, my whole family has for a long time. I'm just trying to help a first generation guy out. I don't want you to just be a one generation farm and done. Heed some advice from those who have extensive real world experience. Thanks and have a good day.

Sorry, I'm not and never will be a fan of electric vehicles. I worked in a creamery where we made butter and powdered milk for 31 years. I drove both gas and electric fork lifts. Predominantly electric. For something that isn't a necessity electric, it's fine. Under the gun, when you absolutely need it, the battery will be dead. Or it will die at the worst possible time. I have been there too many times, and it has been dangerous. So nope, not me. I love the old dump truck.

No disrespect intended, but did you win the lottery or something. There seems to be no way you're producing enough income on that farm to cover the cost of equip/materials/projects that you do. I love this channel for the entertainment sake, but frankly it's a little frustrating to see this portrayed as a working farm, especially if it's subsisting on YT/external income behind the scenes. I'm not hating on that, and I'm totally open to being wrong, but I also know a lot of locals struggling/quitting over the past 6-9 months on larger operations while you have a new piece of equipment for the smallest occasional task week after week. Apologies for the salt, if it comes across that way, it's not intentional. If I'm ignorant of your backstory and this is just a hobby farm, please disregard, that's on me.

@everycitizen, I hear what you're saying. But, I don't think it's anyone's business where his source of funds come from and how his farm operates. If, you've watched videos of this channel he does get a lot of businesses to demo there products. Josh has said that as well in his videos. Josh's channel is approaching 1 million subs. From what I see he's averaging over 60k views per video from his collection of videos roughly. He is living in a mobile home to keep cost down also, he is a Nurse, not sure if he is active. But, for the last few years when rona was around if he traveled during that time he probably did very well. KZbin income is probably helping foot the bill for some of the stuff around the farm. Tie that in with advertising deals for companies and you could generate a nice income. I'm personally in the healthcare field and we've started a little farm as well, we're going for it with documenting our journey at the farm. We're breeding goats and Kune kunes. I'm still currently full time employed and so is my wife. We also have two small side business to get our farm rolling. Sometimes things online may not appear to be what some think. So, when you say you're not producing enough income from that farm to cover cost etc. Well, perhaps he is with selling animals and documenting it along the way generating income from youtube! Animals along you're correct I doubt the income from those cows could support everything we see on this channel. But, Josh is working extremely hard for his farm his way! Stone Ridge is an inspiration!
Probably shouldn't have filmed this
