I think this dish was invented when ancient greek cook tried chinese spring roll then "ah screw it! just roll this block baby and deep fried it". his junior chef asked "how about the sweet chili sauce?", "my life's to short for that! splash oil on honey and sprinkle it with chili.. DONE"

Yes here in Greece we use only extra virgin olive oil for pretty much about everything. It's cheep and in abundance. Also feta costs about 5-6 euros per kilo. Fun tip: try eating watermelon with a chunk of feta cheese. You ll be surprised how well the sweet and salty go together.
