Commented on the Drakon vid but just wanna say again that I loved the different games in this, adding the British classic HIGNFY and Just a minute panel game elements were great. Boba and Ben's rants got me dying. Daf is still charming while trying to be an English hooligan.

We have 12 months because that's how many lunar orbits fit into a solar orbit. The Romans didn't add two - they just renamed two.

The early Roman calendar did in fact only have 10 months. It didn't cover every day of the year, instead starting with march and ending in December. The winter months were left vague until the introduction of January and February. Even after that it was chaotically applied for centuries with years being different lengths based on politics and arbitrary intercalation.

Nope, they added two months. Like, look at the month names. There's "September", "October", "November" and "December". These literally mean "7th month", "8th month", "9th month" and "10th month". Except, wait, September is the 9th month, October is the 10th month, November is the 11th month and December is the 12th month. Despite what their names mean, they've all been pushed two months on. Because, yeah, the Romans did add 2 months to the calendar. July, in honour of Julius Caesar, and August, in honour of Augustus Caesar. And, like, a lunar orbit (which is the same as a lunar day, in fact, as the Moon is tidally locked) is 28 days (-ish). So, in fact, there ought to be 13 months in a year. That's the nearest integer. And, in fact, it's incredibly close to almost being perfect (365.24 / 28 = 13.044285714). Therefore, we should really have 13 months of 28 days, and then we could still do the thing with messing around with the end of February to periodically fix the 0.044285714 "drift", whenever it eventually amounts to being an extra day. And, actually, this would be convenient as 28 is exactly divisible by 7. So the weeks would exactly line up with the months (save for when we have to make "leap year" adjustments). So, yeah, the Romans did add 2 months. That's just historical fact. And, actually, checking the numbers, they should have added 3 months. Because there are, in fact, 13 lunar orbits (of 28 days) within a solar orbit. Almost perfectly so. And that calendar would have been so much more regular and easy, compared to the hodge-podge of different-lengthed months we have now. p.s. "leap" years, in this revised calendar, would only need to be applied every 22-ish years. And, within those 22 years, all months would start on the same day of the week (as would any fixed date, such as your birthday). Much easier. Why aren't we doing this already?

Surprised Zylus didn't pivot from Zeus masquerading as animals to sleep with mortals into the many other instances of bestiality in Greek myth, like the origin of the Minotaur. Bonus points because it includes Daedalus creating a fake sow because Poseidon, upset that the Minoan king didn't sacrifice the prized bull as promised, forced the Minoan queen to lust after the bull. Combined with Zeus' extra-marital affairs being almost solely animal based, it's kind of fucked up.
