I have to admit, 'Fighting Fantasy' is turning into the BEST Christmas gift that ANYONE in the world can give me every year. It's becoming the highlight of my Christmases!!!! "Give him his head" is an entirely legitimate horsing term. Normally when riding, you control where a horse is going via the reins and bit; when you pull the reins to the right, it (gently) pulls the horse's HEAD to the right, and the horse follows it's head; You are directing the horse where to go by controlling it's head. When you don't use the reins and allow the horse to move it's head freely, you are giving HIM control of his head - giving him his head - and allowing the horse to choose where to go. Some horses, especially well trained ones, when given freedom of movement will often return to a specific place, like their stable, so sometimes, giving a horse it's head can be an effective way to get to a destination the horse knows well.

was their a limit on seeds? because he has 23 health, so he could take 7 that take 3hp and add 3 max hp, that use the horn of plenty to go to 45 hp then buy all of the others and be at 34hp, then i'm fairly sure he has bread that will restore a couple hp...just me? >

Yes, but no. They do a Fighting Fantasy book ever year and those are part of the Steve Jackson Ian Livingstone series. However, the series has guest authors. This particular book was not written by Steve Jackson or Ian Livingstone.
