Lol you're right after the fish had a ten inch lure in it's mouth with 3 inch treble hooks towed by a boat with 50lb mono it would be done in by a 2 foot drop. Show me one video of a fish dying from being dropped from 2 feet let alone 5-6 feet. If you've ever had to kill a fish for eating you'd know it takes multiple hits from an oar let alone a dreaded drop from *gasp* two feet. Lol this is hilarious! Retort please. I gotta hear this. It's a muskie not nitro glycerine.

Your entire first paragraph has no bearing to the argument. All of those things happened to the fish where, get this, it was in the water, where, also get this, they live! Did it ever occur to you how their weight is supported and distributed by the water? A fifty plus pound musky dropping onto a hard surface at the mercy of gravity can absolutely die as a result. Now, as for the rest of your argument… your thwacking the fish once over the head with the oar might not immediately kill it, but put it back in the water and you’ll sure as shit see the same fish eventually floating some time later. That is, if it was even able to properly swim away. There’s the very simple retort dismantling/disproving your argument you desperately desired, if a decade late

Almost everything this guy says about musky fishing is wrong, stocked fish in usa grow faster due to the warmer water and a 45 pounder isn't a small musky no matter where you are
@Trashfished11 жыл бұрын
Too many breaks in the slime and infection kills em. Not worth it.

guy says any musky under 45 pounds there is small lol.....what a clown

Sure! Kids killed by a musky! And you still believe in fairy's, dragons and unicorns to huh!
@pikewhisperer11 жыл бұрын
How can you be dumb enough to give such a big fish into the hands of a little kid! What if the fish goes berzerk because she wants to try to escape on that moment? You should have thought that over!
@Noraa66611 жыл бұрын
What you typed makes absolutely no sense lol. Maybe the pike whisperer should do less typing and more whispering

Do muskies Pickle the same as northerns?

You land a pike with a net, let it go, it dies. Unhook them in the water.
@StickyRig Жыл бұрын
Absolutely false. You don’t need to unhook them in the water. I’m going to assume you’re European, because for some reason this notion that netting pike can seriously damage/injure them has developed over there. If the net is adequately sized with a flat bottom that sentiment couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve watched my fair share of European pike fishing. All too often the anglers chin the fish to secure it, present it to the camera, and then attempt to unhook the fish while it’s held vertical and out of the water; unnecessarily risking injury to themselves and the fish. Not just factoring the fish is being oriented in such a way that it’s weight isn’t being distributed and supported evenly, the gill rakes ability to cut a hand open like a knife, thus risking dropping the fish into the floor, but then there’s the lodged hook you still have to worry about freeing and not hooking yourself with in the process. The aversion to netting pike is truly mystifying

green bayn holds a 64 inch muskie record,
@Noraa66611 жыл бұрын
I know at least 5 children are killed by muskies flailing in boats that have no hooks in them. The fish would have just hit the floor. The kid will never forget that fish. Calm the fuck down.

56.5" X33.5" makes that musky weigh over 79 pounds.... Not so sure those numbers are right.

You need to learn how to handle these fish correctly! When you net it, gently caress its pectoral fins. Then with the other hand you wanna gently stick two fingers up into its gills (three or more if it's got some space..I've got my fist in a couple). Then pick it half way out of the net and use your other hand to gently lift by the anus...I found that if you have your hand just down from the rectum, you can actually use your pointer finger to caress the buthole which will be sure to put a smile on your face as well as the musky. Now get that picture and your done! Magical!
