Great video - can you share with me the live bait setup you were using? Did you get the bait from a local on the beach or did you catch it? Did you use any topwater lures?

Hey Joe, We caught the bait mostly with Sabiki rigs and occasionally a cast net. A small J hook worked well and so did offset circle hooks (whichever u prefer). I prefer J hooks so I can perform a hard hook set. Make sure these hooks are on the smaller side so the fish cannot see them. We were using 25lb-30lb fluorocarbon leader of about 4-5 ft with a barrel weight which was able to slide up and down the main line so when the fish takes it it doesn’t feel the weight. We caught all of our fish on live bait (no top water) Tight lines🎣

Time of year is essential for this type of fishing. January and February seem to be the most productive in Jaco. Hope this helps!

For setup we were using offset circle hooks(not too big) with 30lb fluoro leader. Above that we often used a barrel sliding weight in order to get the bait out farther but the less weight the better for feeling the bite
