These machines aren’t designed to calculate the impact of a punch nor or they designed to measure the velocity of a blow. It’s more like a slot machine at a casino where you pull the lever and receive whatever the outcome is. There’s no control over the numbers which you receive. They are just given out as a person plays.

In actual fight - no. There is no chance to hit anything that moves with this kind of preparation. So, yes, boxers instead use technique that hits hard AND FAST, which comes from legs to hips and higher as you mentioned... BUT, this guy does not fight a living opponent. He is trying to hit a static target. And for a STATIC target his technique is absolutely the best, because it allows to make the most of his body mass. It is just impractical for real fight.

Forget about what the score display says, I'd say the 2nd guy's punch had more power than the 1st. *1st guy's* punch was swinging in a arc/circle (a little bit like throwing an overhand pitch in baseball). A lot of his power came from the shoulder. That's inefficient. *2nd guy's* punch was *straighter,* closer to the body and a little more crisp. A lot of the power came from the torso; more efficient. It's possible that the score display for the 2nd guy was higher for a reason - that it 'might' actually be accurate.

The first guy, even if his punch is twice as much power (and it might be), he wasted half of it swinging his body around like a you would a baseball bat.
