I love how you could view Baymax as representative of Tadashi. He’s basically him just with his caring traits dialed to 11. Another cool detail, at the end of the movie when Baymax sacrifices himself, his voice is noticeably much less robotic as he tries to sooth Hiro. Whether it’s because he’s genuinely become more human and has that emotion, or it’s just him following his program to make Hiro happy, it’s a great detail.

My headcannon is the microbots' movements reflect the operator's mental state. Hiro was careful and methodical for his demonstration, which the bots showed by forming geometric shapes Callaghan was full of rage and fury, which reflected in the bots weird and erratic movements.

To this day, a sequel to Big Hero 6 has not been made. Although they have an official BH6 animated series that aired on TV and a spin-off mini series titled Baymax, those underutilize what this movie had done. Disney bought Marvel in 2009 and Big Hero 6 was one of the latter’s works, so this animated film signifies the union between the two studios. And adding a Stan Lee cameo is a plus!

Big Hero 6 is based on a Marvel Comics limited series after initially appearing in a one shot comic in 1998. This is why Stan Lee appears in the film since it’s from a Marvel comic. Still an absolute crime we never got a sequel to this.

Dude, this film means so much to me. The year it came out, I was going through the loss of my older sister. And seeing this, at the age I was at that time, meant so much to me. Experiencing grief for the first time and depression. It was all too much, but as a kid, watching the film, really helped me see that this feeling won't be forever but I'll be okay one day.

Someone made a good point about heros micro bots . He's 14 and made all of that in his garage, why can't an adult so the same things in a big factory . Ig just having a pre-made one will make it alot easier to copy than starting from scratch

Forgot his name and have only seen season one of the show, but rich dude isn't the inventor type. He's no genius, just good with business. Hiro however has an insane iq so it'd be hard for anyone else to recreate the microbots from nothing

Hiro did invent the microbots exactly. They were the professors design made smaller, the small version act no different than the larger ones earlier in the show. He did make the effectively telepathic helmet to control them which I imagine would be the hard part to replicate

Hiro is a genius but can we talk about how Tadashi is clearly one, too? The fact that he was able to create, from scratch, a robot as complex and well programmed as Baymax, in only 84 tries? I've worked with engineers and I've run more test cycles on a single autoclave than it took Tadashi to get Baymax right.

Big Hero 6 is one of my favorite of the CG animated Disney films! And it definitely deserves a sequel! Though the animated series wasn't that great, I somewhat enjoyed it. But I'd recommend watching the Baymax miniseries, it's way better.

So the reason Callaghan is doing the movements with his hands is because neural transmission can better focused with physical activity. Hes using those movements to better picture and manipulate the bots shape

If you want a continuation of Big hero 6 there isn't a sequel movie but there are two sequel series. The first is Big hero 6 the series, is 2D animated and aired on Disney XD / Disney channel. It ran for a good few seasons and I'd say it's a pretty good show. The second is Baymax! which released on Disney Plus. That one's more of a mini series I believe.

Though it is mostly limited to X-Men crossovers since Big Hero 6 is a spinoff of that and in the comics they are lead by the X-Man Sunspot and a member includes the sometime X-Men (mostly Wolverine) villain Silver Samurai.

Something I caught after watching this movie multiple times is all the signs I should've noticed that pointed to Callahan being the villain. The biggest, imo, how the microbots work. This is just my thinking, but I believe only someone of Hiro or Callahan's intelligence could pilot the microbots. You'd have to know so much about how things move, operate, are put together, taken apart, etc. or the microbots wouldn't really know what to do. For example, thinking "move me" doesn’t give the microbots enough information on how to act out the command. Machines/codes are very well known for only being able to carry out to direct and clear commands, which is how I presume the microbots work. Which is why Callahan tells Hiro that he can continue to develop them despite them looking very well produced. It's unmarketable to the masses. I don't think someone like Kre, a business genius who (to our knowledge) doesn’t invent but simply seeks out promising inventions and invests in them, would be knowledgeable enough to pilot them. Of all the characters to be presented as possible antagonists, Callahan is the only one who's been stated as smart enough. Granted, this is just all based off a little headcannon I made in my head, but imo it makes Callahan the only reasonable suspect and makes me wonder why I didn't catch it sooner.
