I was practically at all these places during my visit! But an absolute #1 for our family was manta ray night snorkeling from Kona. Several other places that we enjoyed: Pololu beach (including hike), Honokohau National Park (with turtles), Two Step (the best snorkeling you can easily get!), Honomalino beach (perfect beach with practically no people), hiking on ciderkones like Pu'u Kalepeamoa (near Mauna Kea visitor center). Absolutely fantastic island! Thanks for the video.

Manta ray diving is on my to-do list next time we go! My husband’s coworker just got back and also said Two-Step was amazing, so that too, will be on our list of things. Thanks for sharing!

Headed there tomorrow. My 13 year old wants to do night snorkeling. Is it really $200 pp?

If you want to do the night dive with the manta rays and can be that expensive. Also, if you are headed out there this week, it might already be sold out for the time you are there. You can snorkel for free at some of the beaches I mentioned, as long as you have your own gear. But it wouldn’t be the night snorkeling. It’s still amazing and my kids loved every second of it!

One of the highlights of my 3 trips to the Big Island was swimming at South Point. There is a way to climb down an up off to the left from the parking area.

We saw someone attempting it when we went. No one actually went through with it. My husband wanted to try it, but it was so windy when we were there.

Been here about a week and just chillin Done a bunch of stuff Green Beach was fun 20 bucks and someone will take you down Hang on tho Mahalo🤙🏻

Punaluu beach is full of rocks, watch out. Green sands beach is a long walk in and you leave your car unprotected. 4 wheel in if you can rent a four wheel jeep if you come to the big Island so you can get to areas that the general tourist will never see.

I think I loved the hike more than the actual waterfall. I will say, it's definitely not as impressive as some out there.

Mauna Kea beach is man made and not very good at all for divers or snorkeling. I guess I should get a blog going to tell the real stuff. They touch on all the tourist spots only, not where the locals go. My daughter ( born here) is a surfer and surfs Waipio every day almost and my Son is a certified diver like myself. We stay away from tourist spots except for Hapuna beach that is a good place during the winter to body surf now and then and just north of Hapuna are good surf and diving areas in the harbor.

I definitely stayed to the tourist spots, as that is the kind of thing I'm focused on with my channel. But I appreciate your other suggestions for those wanting something a bit more adventurous in terms of surfing.
