4:30 is iconic...one of the best John Wayne movies ever. This would be a great remake with Jeff Bridges. He did great in True Grit. I loved The Cowboys too! Very similar feel.
@bigchet5 жыл бұрын
Lmao modern Hollywood would only remake this with Will Smith and an all black cast directed by Spike Lee

I got the author of True Grit's autograph, "Charles Portis".

Hollywood needs to stop doing remakes and get back to creating original works. I have been sick of regurgitated Hollywood for over 20 years. Enough.

Elmer Bernstein in the film music is almost Leonard Bernstein in the classical music. What valuable two Steins the USA have!

Another 'meat and potatoes' Western, with a twist: it's 1909 and the West is changing. But the Duke is after his stolen grandson and nothing will stop him. Anytime Wayne and Maureen O'Hara sparred on screen was a treat and "Daddy" has to handle both the changes and two grown sons. As always, Elmer Bernstein provides a fine soundtrack. This was done on a more modest budget by Cinema Center Films, part of General Cinema until the feds reminded them of the Paramount decree, but Wayne's Batjac Productions was such a well-oiled machine, the film looks great despite the budget.

Encore et toujours John Wayne et les musiques dignes des grands espaces américains qui ont fait les westerns inoubliables dans lesquels le Duke a joué avec Elmer Bernstein comme compositeur génial

Loved seeing it back when I was in the Academy. When Jim Davis kicked the child away as he was going to lynch Bernard Foxes Shepard I nearly choked on my soda as the Duke said "Aw why did he have to go and do that..." I knew at that moment the comment Maureen O'Hara made about needing an Unpleasant man to deal with the kidnappers and killer was all too much Karma...
