Such smooth, effortless and genuinely funny storytelling. No taboos, but no tackiness; a perfect mix of raw, "nasty" humour and sophisticated, smart and fun commentary. Big Jay is such a natural! He's like a big bowl of mashed potatoes: simple, velvety, in-your-face goodness. He doesn't need to resort to any cheap gimmick or shtick to make people listen and burst out laughing. As a French Canadian who does appreciate all the great comics we have back home, I do wish you could visit someday and bring some of that unadulterated, eloquently deadpan comedy to Québec City, or at least Montreal someday. Sort of accurate. I think he's just a better fit as a radio/podcast host - naturally funny, but the work ethic isn't there to get him to a perfectly honed special. His overall presentation doesn't make for mainstream standup success either - dresses like a broken home teenager, always seated for his stand up, too much crowd work and says "am I right" a million times every special (check my timestamp, hasn't even premiered yet and I'm calling the shot). I'll still watch every special to pump the views, but in terms of funny . . . LOS>Bonfire>Standup.
