It's a wonder the Woke brigade haven't gotten around to treating Big Joe. Some of his lyrics are a bit questionable. This one from Flip Flop And Fly : " Don't make me nervous, cause I'm holding the baseball bat". Others are funny. Can't remember the name of the track this one comes from : "Get out'a that bed, wash your face and hands [or is it hair?] Can't believe my eyes all this mess belongs to you." Bo Dudley would have been at pains to carefully deconstruct that one ; "A sort of meditation of sorts on the overall importance of grooming and indeed of hygiene in the home at a time indeed when general access to laundry facilities for example, was not taken for granted much as it is for us today."
