I bought steel fishing leaders for the backdoor hinge. works awesome and they're meant to be in water all the time.

Thought it was worth mentioning Mic that the Hero basic model does not have a split hinge so you cannot use the back up line

I only have ever had 1 buckle break do to extreme use. It was on the ground and hockey pucked it into woods while drifting an ATV. The worst part was that the battery had died and did not get the footage.

I made my own, different sizes, multiple and stuff like that... They work great! Don't have to spend up to 20 bucks for 1 leash!
