July 31st, South Shore Lake Ontario. Stiff northwest winds pushed warm water onshore forcing us to go deep to find cooler water holding salmon. We found fish 5 miles out in 400 ft. of water that were holding 70 to 80 ft. down feeding on massive schools of alewives. Moonshine Carbon 14 spoons proved deadly and we boated three large mature salmon and lost a couple more. We also boated and released several steelhead and smaller salmon. This video only shows us battling the three mature kings we managed to land, including one just under 24 lbs., my biggest of the season so far.
