The club has a very nice layout. Cool that they could put that together. I have been the member of a number of clubs. I am currently a member of the Elkhart Model Railroad Club in Elkhart, Indiana. I am also a member of the NMRA and active in the local division. This has given me the opportunity to meet many other modelers in my area. For most of the first 30 years of my modeling I was what you would call a lone wolf. Did everything by myself. Meeting others as allowed me to operate on some truly awesome layouts.

Hi, John! I agree, the club members did a great job on their layout. It sounds like you’ve got some great organizations that keep you busy. We have great club where I live. But, I work evenings and that makes it hard to be part of. I know many of the members personally, and I keep in touch with them outside of the club setting. -Mike

They’re some good guys for sure. I’ve been part of clubs in the past. Currently, I work evenings for my “day” job, and our local club meets in the evenings. But, it’s always fun to visit various clubs when I can .

Great video Mike! Wish I could have been there, but as the running joke with me goes, the real Railroad takes time away from the model railroad, lol! Maybe one day we'll cross paths somewhere! Glad you were able to visit the folks down there, see you for the 2024 edition!

Hi! I will see what I can find out. I was wondering if one of our fellow modelers on here might know. I've only met up with the club members during special display events, and haven't had the chance to visit during regular meetings. -Mike

We currently have 2 main displays each year, one in October at the Heart of the Ozarks Fairgrounds (located just off US Highway 63 on the north end of town a little over a mile south of Junction 14) inside the Harper building just behind the main grandstand. And the 2nd is the Christmas display at the Harlin Museum (located at 405 Worcester Street in West Plains, Missouri). Recently we have set up a smaller display during the Home and Garden Show located at the West Plains Civic Center (located at 110 St. Louis Street in West Plains, Missouri). I don't know personally if that particular display will be back for this year, so you might want to check with the club by using the contact information I listed earlier, hope to see you there!
