Horse Plus, you have shown Big Lick victims rescued from the slaughter pipeline in deplorable condition at auction. We have watched as many of these majestic, gentle creatures were too injured/damaged to rehabilitate and the last act of kindness was the only humane thing to do for them. Watching this live with those terrible people riding animals that are clearly struggling to get through the 'show' sickens me. No animal deserves this sort of treatment, especially innocent, beautiful ones such as these. Horse Plus, you are true heroes, each and every one of you, thank you for everything you do. People, please share this, tweet this, Insta this, just get this out there! There are a lot of us and if we each share this there will be more and more outcry to end this torture.

Way too many of those riders are over the 20% rule and far too heavy in the hands. Not only does Big Lick look ridiculous on the horses, the riders look like bags of garbage sitting on them, hunched over, legs sticking out, deathgrip on the reins. This isn't riding.

The "Big Lick" originated when walking horses became popular with the public - 1940s-50s, ironically they wear a likeness to era's clothing in their stupid shows - and I do believe Big Lick was developed to detract from/compensate for the shitting riding ability of people back then & simply carried on through the generations. There's another chap who posts videos against Big Lick and as I've said there............ I've seen children with mental disabilities who do therapy riding that ride better than these loser thugs.

How can those fat pigs think they look good on those poor horses? Do the horses have to live every day with the awful thing on their hooves? I think I saw a foal lying in a stable with something on his/her front hooves. This was when I searched the stables mentioned. I agree with you about the awful organ music!

They say they are "inspected" to ensure "no abuse" what i don't understand is how do you hide the fact that you severed the horses tail tendon? You can try to cover up the acid damage around their hooves. This is awful. And the gait is awkward with the stacks? It just looks ridiculous

Beautiful horses that unfortunately do not look happy, their walking looks so uncomfortable, you can see that the horse is struggling. The riders look like ridiculous, overweight pompous idiots with suits and whips. I think they should put the stacks on the riders and let them run around the ring ... now that is something I would pay to see. Shame on the politicians, judges, owners, trainers and riders of this elitist cruel sport. Veterinarians who participate and condone the abuse of these horses should have their licences revoked. I am embarrassed at,how many women riders there are, they should be ashamed of themselves. Good luck trying to outlaw this ... I am in Scotland and wish I was there to help you guys out. I hope and pray this cruelty is stopped dead in it's track.

I saw a racket in one of the barns weaving back and forth in the box stall and I looked in the stall and he was so friendly and you could see the pain in his eyes, and I almost got sick his one hoof was cut threw and bleeding, looked closer it was all the way through the hoof and hanging so I hung out and waited to see if anyone would come . The show was over everyone was gone , they left that baby there, so I called the cops they came immediately, got the vet there , wrapped his foot and pain med's and then took him to the emergency. I cried so hard that horse was only 3 years old.

I’m from Australia and we don’t have Big Lick horses here (not that I’m aware of) but even if we did it most definitely would not be allowed. Has to be one of the most cruellest “sports” ( and I use that term loosely) that I have ever seen. The pain those horses must go through everyday with no freedom to actually be a horse. That grossly overweight man on the chestnut should be ashamed of himself, hasn’t that poor horse suffered enough. I just don’t understand why the animal cruelty laws are not tougher in the USA. Thank god you are showing the world what happens to these horses. The more it gets out there the more likely things will change. Keep up the good work💕

Welcome to the animal freak shows of the 21st century. Have you seen the extreme breeding in Arabs, for muzzles that look bent up at the nose? Then there's dog breeds with such malformed prize winning pelvises that they can't breed naturally, and only give birth via C section. They give top prizes nowadays to conformations that, when I was a girl, were literally disqualified at the door of the dog show. These so called fanciers don't care if the animal is healthy or happy, just that they can outdo competitors in "uniqueness."

The pain endured in those stacks and chains should be considered inhumane. The natural gait of those horses is beautiful. Thank you for showing us both.

I don't know much about horses but these poor creatures look like weebles wobbling and about to fall over. 😢 Guess they sleep well at night because they have no conscious.

Only humans can be this much inhumane. Thank you for making the public aware of the abuse. The owners and the riders of these brutalized horses need to be forced to wear stacks and chains, and have painful shots under their toenails. I bet the big lick industry would end overnight.

The natural gate is so beautiful, I agree with you that they should show the natural gate all the time. When Jason said they’re in it for a $.99 ribbon I actually laughed out loud because the big lick is that ridiculous. It breaks my heart to see these horses being abused when the natural gate is so incredible. Thank you Tawnee and Jason for showing the public what’s being done to horses. Kudos to you all. 💕💕💕💕

@@renasmith4123 But did the people doing the petition push it? Most people get intimidated when they get shot down the first time they present their petitions. You really have to fight and keep going higher sometimes. Not everyone can handle this. Leave me a link to the ones you signed so I can go sign it too!

You will never succeed unless you go after the judges. As long as judges put up horses with stacks the exhibitors will continue the practice.

Is there a way to have a charity event for flat shod and we can donate to make it a big purse?? That way flat shod can get recognized and the people who ride it can get some money to reward them for choosing the right way to show their horse.

I used to show horses and I recently just learned about the Big Lick. I never knew anything like this ever happened. My mind is blown away that people can abuse horses like this. I watch the horses as they trot away and the hind legs are SOOOO UNNATURAL. It is clear that these stacks, and chains are effecting the horse in a negative way. I would also like to point out that the riders don't know how to ride. There is a lack of horsemanship. I notice it especially with the older men riding. They are hunched over and are sitting far back on the horses' back. I just can't believe a judge in the arena is okay with judging such ridiculousness. How can using extreme equipment to make your horse do that qualify you for a ribbon? A judge isn't actually judging the horse on it's natural ability. My mind is completely blown with this illogical reasoning. These poor horses. Their riders/trainers/owners clearly have no compassion for their horses. These shows are clearly done for ones ego.

If I didn’t live in Utah, I would be there to protest peacefully. My friend that lived in California bought a Tennessee walking horse. It was beautiful and had an awesome gate and she never put weights on its legs or feet or anything else. There was nothing on there. No boots no weights no nothing it wasn’t altered in anyway hers was a big black stallion. At what age can these horses compete? What’s the youngest because these horses should be ridden until they’re for or trained so if they’re under four they’re too young to be ridden in and compete in this whatever it is not race but showmanship I guess
