Well Gosh...Did we really believe Alonso would want to sign to the Mets for less money? Mets did the right thing and they have options within their team as 2025 isn't a win-all year, but another bridge year as this team continues to be molded by the mastermind named David Stearns. Yes, this team as it stands now is probably not a World Series team....but, I don't think they are done at all! Mets have a few more moves up their sleeves...these next few weeks are going to be fun!

As a Mets fan, I’m sad to hear Alonso’s time with the Mets may be over. Good luck to him the rest of his career. Having said that, once he turned down that 7 year extension, it was over then. He failed to recognize the market for a first baseman specially at his age. I believe in Sterns and the front office, they will put a winning product on the field im 2025. And if Vlady becomes available via a trade, put the Mets as the number 1 destination given the major league ready prospects the Mets have available which the Blue Jays have a huge need.

There was a story 3 years roughly 7 million per year. It was alonso's proposal. In my opinion the Mets should not deal with any client of Boras. I feel that he was below his history of homers. His average is way to low. He has lost more games than he won for the team. His strike outs, double plays and Big mistakes. And not clutch. The team would be better off without him and Bores. They need some one with consistency.

i said it before on other podcasts regarding the Mets and Pete Alonso.... Pete, for me, your home run was as equally thrilling as when they won in 86. I cried when i saw it here in the UK where i live now. You truly have the heart of New York in your hands. Your home run will absolutely forever be remembered in Mets lore for quite some time... For you to decide to refuse an offer for 7 years at that ridiculous sum of money, the writing was already on the wall. It breaks my heart that you have decided that the riches that you will earn and never hope to spend in your next five generations lifetimes WAS NOT ENOUGH.......??? well... I’m totally fine letting Alonso walk because he strikes out too much and he’s never been my ideal kind of player, but they still need 2 bats. So hopefully, there’s some good news on Vlad and they add the other bat. Or they can try to include Varsho to play CF in their proposal for Vlad. I’m sure the Jays want to get out from that Varsho contract and he’s really solid defensively. He’d be a huge benefit for Soto & Nimmo
