Welcome back to Florida. We live in Sarasota. Atlanta is definitely a pain in the butt driving through. Atlanta is another reason I like our motorhome. You can use the bathroom and you have full access to the kitchen while sitting in traffic. Washington DC is no picnic driving through either.

I live in N. GA and go through Atlanta all of the time with my trailer (as recently as this weekend). I will take heavier traffic versus rough roads; I hate rough roads. Going through downtown Atlanta (75/85 connector) is much smoother than the perimeter 285. Speaking of rough roads, I hate driving through Chattanooga, and the last time we were through Denver (~5 years ago) I recall the roads there were pretty rough. Speaking of Florida, they have some pretty weird traffic patterns too. Enjoy and be safe.

We’ve driven thru Atlanta twice with our Class A Diesel Pusher and toad, we’ve also driven it thru the Seattle, St. Louis, Nashville, Cincinnati, Phoenix, Dallas, and most major cities in between over the last 3 years with our RV. Atlanta, while one of the most congested cities has had some of the most helpful traffic to us. I put on the blinker and the cars next to us have always opened up space for us to move over … maybe it’s from fear, but they made space. We’ve not seen that in most other cities, and some of them (Talking about you, Seattle, Phoenix, and Dallas!) the traffic seems to actively block us when we signal - not sure why the driving culture is that different, but that’s our experience after 3 years of FT RV life driving coast to coast 2x each year. BTW - before RV life we visited all 50 states and drove our car thru 49 of them, including Hawaii (where we lived) and the most congested cities we’ve been in for traffic have been Honolulu, Atlanta and L.A. - in that order … the only one we actively avoid is L.A. 😉 Glad you made it to FL safe and sound :-)

Making the phone text messages work would require expensive upgrades to software to do mass texting, or labor intensive to do it by hand. Social media makes sense. I do believe they need to make it clear on the welcome packet that it is how they communicate. I have no clue just my thoughts on it… right wrong … shrug I have no clue.
