None of those cars had cages, no one wore helmets...nothing. Bet you couldn't find 2 fire extinguishers on that property too. With that being said, happy to see this kind of racing. Not easy to get a crowd of cars like that together with easily 150k+ on the property and not have major issues. Also with 10k+ plus bets a side you know they know those cars for the most parts. Unless a car didn't leave good they were all pretty close.

Even with how bad it was, dude got lucky. Car likely did slow some before it finally stopped as it was going through the woods and jumping the highway, but had he gone straight into a tree at that initial speed it would have been a lot worse.

I’m in my mid 50s and raced off and on most of my life at tracks like this. I ran the old ATL NHRA track a couple times and did terrible because I was nervous my car wouldn’t pass inspection or I’d embarrass myself lol. Thanks for showcasing the real deal for everyone to enjoy!

I've raceed that track for many years when I lived there and that curve has gotten many a race car in the same spot. It used to be an oval track back in the 60's and they turned it into a drag strip in the 70's. I've come close several times almost jumping off the end

Had nothing to do with a timing issue! He bumped shallow and triggered the 2nd bulb, at that point he shoulda bumped again or been ready to go when the green dropped. That was a driver error, nothing to do with the timing equipment. If you can't stage your car, you should probably stay home.
