Looks like the place has no soul. It's a shame so many good smaller independent dealers that used to offer great friendly service have fallen by the wayside , these places were like communities for motorcyclists. So sad to see how the industry that I loved and worked in for 35 years has changed over the last few years.

another bike warehouse, after-sales, services, recalls, and warranty repair is something you get from small independent retailers and family-run businesses these big fly-by-night warehouses offer none of this when they close down and reopen under new names, how many people bought a bike from one for these big outlets and then it closed and had no after-sales services, these big firms offer discounts but save money elsewhere,

Herald is a British company that sources and imports motorcycle components from the Far-East and completes final assembly at its base in Huntingdon. The bikes are very pretty and very reasonably priced. Contrary to some of the snotty, uninformed, comments on here, they are actually rather good too. Just what the market needs. Having said that, I would much rather buy one from a small local dealership than from a big discount warehouse type operation like this one. These bikes are cheap anyway so you won’t be saving a huge amount and any support that might later be required will be better.

@sergentcolon15 ай бұрын
@@motorsforthemasses I’m a classic motorcycle look taste, the melted plastic transformer look doesn’t do it for me. Tbh when I go into a motorcycle showroom these days, there isn’t much that appeals to me. I have a Honda SH125i scooter which is very practical, economical (I’m getting 130+ mpg) and pleasant to ride. I’ve also just parted with my RE Meteor 350 due to issues with my left hip and knee which made man handling it out of the shed my bikes are kept in difficult. I’ve moved to a Honda Dax 125 which is a huge amount of fun. My hip and knee problems mean long rides are for me very uncomfortable and the two 125’s keep me riding. I’ve owned many bikes in my time including a lot of BMW’s and even a Pan European at one point. At some point a lighter weight bike up to 400 cc might be on the cards, I like the Triumph Speed 400, will try to get a test ride at some point to see how I get on with one.

I was told that they (SW) had sold the garage/workshop part of the business to BigMoto and that in future they would only be focussing on maintaining/servicing bikes bought from them at SW. Tbh I thought that might be of a bit naive move business wise but it seems from this video however that the whole shebang has been sold.

@@CrapKerouac Howdy, yes our winter salt on the roads is a real killer, they are now using a finer white/almost table salt grade; which eats brake pads like no tomorrows, the older brown rock salt type they used to use was far less corrosive, the Chinese bikes are very poorly painted and the plating on the nuts and bolts goes grey as soon as it get wet, really poor quality, it looks good when brand new but does not last a winter, even if the bike is stored in a garage, they are a lot worse than the Honda's that I served my time on in the mid seventies.
