I still remember that day when Nintendo made their first Switch consoles. They built them too fast they made the joy cons too quickly & threw them out to the public to buy . Nintendo " KNEW about the " joy con drift . They didn't care ! Then millions of ppl sent their joy cons back to have them repaired!! That was a huge mess in itself 🎮😡

2025 release, it might be called Nintendo Switch XL. the specs just sounds too similiar to the switch1 to be an entirely new console. do you think the switch 1 UI will be updated to align with the switch 2's or vise-versa? i dont like the rumor that nintendo is holding back the oled screen out the gate of its release.

I'm hoping that Nintendo " doesn't GO that far & adding magnets on the inside of the joy cons & the screen . It's still easier for ppl to take the joy cons off the screen with out Magnets . I don't understand why Nintendo would want to risk their next Gen consoles w the Magnets attached 🎮🤔

Don't worry these rumors are mostly false. The rails aren't going anywhere. The magnet everyone is talking about is just to replace that little release button/latch system on the old joycons. The old joycons should be able to not only work with the new switch, but also be able to clip on the rails just like the old switch.

I dont think it will rely purely on magnets. It will probably still have some sort of lockin system so you dont risk for the joycons to accidentally detach but magnets will probably help to hold them better in the place so they wont feel wobbly like on switch.

Yeah. Regular magnets likely wouldn't be strong enough unless they are good-sized neodymium ones, and then it would be hard to get them off. Maybe a combination of rails and weaker magnets. It's tough to say

Magnets are a terrible idea. Even strong neodymium magnets aren't that strong. Plus I dont think magnets and electrical components (screens) like each other. Also magnets can be rendered inert. Heat and damage can cause magnets to depolarize or something.

My only issue with the magnetized joy con idea is that they should still keep the railing the OGs had to make it more secure. It it was ONLY magnetized they’d better install some really good ones that won’t wear out, especially for people that switch between handheld and console often

It's not to late for a 2024 release. Switch was revealed in what, September 2016 and launched in March 2017 right? That was 6 months from reveal to launch. So If Nintendo reveals the codename on May 7th then say at the end of their June Direct or after the June Direct they do an actual reveal, they could squeak out a November release which would be 5 months or 6 if we include the first tease of May 7th.

All these concerns about magnets are from people who've never used a Milwaukee torpedo level. They're plenty strong, but it's probable magnetically assisted locking and not just magnets alone

I was in the camp of not caring, then I got the OLED steam deck. I much prefer the screen in the deck to the one in my red box switch.

People don't know what they are talking about and just jump on the new terms that companies spit out. UHD, OLED, QLED, so on. nothing wrong with LCD, my TV is 13 years old and is still just a 1080p LCD TV. It has lasted and done well. I prefer LCD. Sure OLED is brighter and has better color contrast, but that's it. Usually you get that brighter image but worse sound quality lol. Also OLED has horrible glare problems with sunlight.

For the magnetic controllers, if they were going to go with toggle a setting to lock or unlock the joy cons for the switch: They should add the setting to where ever they need to add it. An easier way to do it is by adding the setting to the Hold Home button to see a quick setting tab mid game, where the power button is, volume, screen brightness, ect.

I NEVER take my joycons off of my Switch so the rails were never an issue for me. Magnetically attached controllers ARE a worry if that's all that's keeping them on, and when I heard that, that's the FIRST thing I thought of: "But they'd just pop off if I move wrong during gameplay". Let's HOPE they're smart enough to realize that and solve it before launch. Other than that, long as it's demonstrably a NOTICABLE upgrade from the Switch - in graphical capability in particular, it HAS to be or many ports of PS5 and PC games won't come out on it without being chopped beyond recognition - 4k is whatever, don't care about that on a handheld - and is crucially BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE (I just spent well over $200 on a Switch edition of a limited run games title - if I can't play my current Switch games on it, I'm unlikely to get it anytime soon)....then I'm for sure getting it. If it LACKS those things, I'm not (unless for hefty sale years down the road). It's really as simple as that and I suspect the same is true for many current Switch owners.

Considering the switch still supports the Wii and WiiU controllers for any game. I would assume the new switch will work with all the old controllers as well. Also I've heard that although the new joycons are magnetic, they're still using the same rail as the the switch. The magnets are just replacing that little lock button on the old joycons that nobody uses anyway. So technically the old joycons would fit the new switch's rail too. But the magnets have nothing to do with the metal track that actually holds the joycons to the console. Also I've heard that the switch digital and physical game cartage's will be compatible with the new switch, but not the other way around. So probably like the DS vs 3DS games or GBC vs GBA.

The Switch doesn't officially support WII U controllers. You have to buy 3rd party plug-in's like the Mayflash-NS just to get the WII U's pro controller to work for docked play.

If Samsung is handling the components then there is no reason _not_ to make the initial launch hardware OLED. Tons of cell phone screens have been OLED for years, so an LCD at launch in 2025 would feel aggressively archaic.

There is not going to be a switch 2 considering what a lot of third-party developers like to do with their games nowadays Nintendo will probably only make mobile systems for Japan home consoles everywhere else cuz everybody's making high-powered games nowadays which is kind of leaving Nintendo in the dust that's why there's a lot of talk on Nintendo's customer service with supervisors and the employees at customer service of Nintendo talking about that the head honcho Doug Bowser is thinking about going back to a console console with Nintendo since everybody's making high-tech fancy modern-day games with third-party Developers causing Nintendo to end up making bad choices of getting stupid dorky games like they've been getting for the switch third party titles that are not true Nintendo titles of a lot of the third party games they've gotten on the switch over the years they're not big name brands a third-party titles that have been on the switch recently because Nintendo when it used to make system systems it used to get things like Ubisoft in Konami what's games like Castlevania an Ubisoft with games like Batman and other stuff and we used to get Disney games on Nintendo and we also used to get Star Wars games on Nintendo of axle Star War games even Japan had Sailor Moon games and we also used to get Mega Man games as a major bigger deal end the Original Classic NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy what's yet they have to finish on the online service of NES which is still missing Ninja Gaiden episode 2 the Dark Sword of Chaos and it's also missing Ninja Gaiden episode 3 the ancient ship of Doom is still missing from the online service and Devil Dragon 3 the sacred stone is missing from the Nintendo online service we get the launch title of NES Super Mario Bros we get the launch title of Super Mario World but we still have yet for Game Boy to get the launch title of the original Super Mario Land on the Game Boy online service and since they've never made a collection yet the Game Boy online service can still get Double Dragon and Devil Dragon 2 the Revenge and Devil Dragon 3 the arcade game on the Game Boy online service and the five Mega Man games from Game Boy could still come to the Nintendo online service and we're still missing seven Donkey Kong games Donkey Kong land trilogy Game Boy and we're missing the Donkey Kong Country trilogy from Game Boy Advance is still missing and also Donkey Kong 64 is still missing from the online service and we're also missing super Ghouls and ghosts Game Boy Advance version and we're also still missing the Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past the four Swords Game Boy Advance version and we're still missing the original Perfect Dark from Nintendo 64 online service and also still missing the Game Boy Advance versions of Breath of Fire 1 and 2 they may not have the graphical engine quality but I still like Breath of Fire 1 and 2 from Game Boy Advance versions better than the Super Nintendo versions except for the graphical engine they did make a lot of improvements to the Game Boy advanced version of Breath of Fire 1 and 2
