This exercise is hard without weight. Pete's repping 405 with this.

I'm a simple guy, that's it. I'm not complicated in any shape way or form. I'm not an algebra equation by any means, when I see a video of Pete Rubish, a world renown powerlifter, without hesitation, I click the like button.

If you listen to way he talks, you can still hear it in his voice. Nothing beats squatting. Good fella

This is actually "Bulgarian" Split Squat or "rear-foot elevated" split squat. This regular Split Squat is actually a stationary lunge with no rear foot elevation.

I love the tip of putting a small plate were you want your front foot to be. I never thought of that. Thanks Pete.

It's hard to tell from the angle and the size of your traps, but are you using a high or low bar placement?

how much thought are you putting into how hard you're pressing off of the back foot? Do you find you're able to keep that consistent from side to side? For instance, with my weaker left leg forward, I notice a tendency to compensate by pressing on my right (raised) foot.

My grip is the issue here too. By the time I get through the sets my legs get cold. It's really frustrating

Is this what most people call a bulgarian squat as well?

The difference I've seen is that the Bulgarian split squat you elevate your back foot, whereas with the split squat you keep it on the ground. So this would technically be a Bulgarian split squat.
