the more of these tributes i see the more my heart breaks for Uncle Ben you can tell he had such a special soft spot for Big Ounce and im sure all the videos hes seen have made him both smile and cry a bit. I dont "work" in rescue but i do pick up rescued guinea pigs to give them their forever homes and ive lost my fair share that i fell in complete love with. Its always so hard to lose a rescue after having brought them back from the brink or just gave them all the love they ever could have needed. Just because its a part of nature and you know you made that animals last bit of life so much better doesnt make it any easier to say goodbye to them.

My heart goes out to Big Mr Uncle Daddy Ben. He had a close bond with Big Ounce it was obviously always going to be a tremendous loss. Poor chap, I hope he knows that every minute he spent with Big Ounce made his life so much better. He gave a sweet hoarding rescue a loving home and a loving heart. Big Ounce saved me from a crocodile I was being stalked by in the top end of Queensland, Australia. He dragged me 100 kilometres (around 80 miles) back to town. He wouldn't take the reward my family had posted, he was just that kind of guy. Miss him always.

We had a Boxer dog we called Ounce. Her real name was Brandy (AKC official name Duchess of Brandywine, which was pretentious). She was a great dog and my nurse as a baby.

This was a wonderful collection of happy times with Big Ounce. The apple incident still makes me laugh, he sure loved his food! I’m so happy he got to live in Ouncetopia and receive so much love from Uncle Ben after being crammed in a pet store for who knows how long. TURR has such a great community and it warms my heart seeing people take time to make vidyas and help Ben and everyone in the grieving process. I really hope Patrick will be ok too. Poor little tubby tubster. My black lab is getting old. She's my first dog as an adult and when she goes I know that I'm gonna find it really hard. We always had dogs when i was a kid but you don't truly appreciate them until you've had one as an adult.

True indeed. My family's first dog passed away about 4 years ago and it truly hit hard. I was extremely sad, but after experiencing our current pups first years I realized that I never truly appreciated our old friend. As a child I couldn't comprehend the impact that a small furry friend would have on my life, and for that reason I don't think I treated him fairly. I was always nice, but looking back I wish I gave him so much more attention. I have worked so hard to give so much love to our current dog, love that I feel I missed out on giving to our past dog.

There was a tear in space/time. I had to stay on the other side operating the equipment to close it. As my wife and daughter made it safely to our dimension I was fully prepared to never see them again when suddenly a voice shouted, "Go! I got this!" It was Big Ounce. He shoved me aside n took command of the console. "GO!!" Stunned, I wordlessly scrambled to safety to our side of the rift. As the rift closed Big Ounce shouted, "Don't let this be in vain! Live your life!" I never found out how he returned to this dimension but I owe him. A lot of people will say I copied this story from the latest Captain Marvel film. It's actually the other way around.
