Rohn, two comments. 1. You should pressure wash the motor. 2. Current diesel manufactures are replacing the keyways with a pin. On the crank and cam shafts. Does your motor have this?

Thank you for your comments, I do need to pressure wash the engine compartment, it has been a while. I was unaware of the issue with the pins instead of the keyway, I will check on this, I know that is an issue with the GM engines.

Ram recommends that you do not pressure wash the engine bay as it can cause water intrusion issues.

Banks or any intake does NOT provide any hp gains possibly better air flow and unless you really get a bigger inter cooler and pipes plus mess around with the tuning the gains are insignificant.

These intake horns do not provide big gains at all. They’ve been dynod and proven it does nothing to a stock truck.

Gale is a great salesman, makes a good product. However without intact aftermarket tuning, the intake horns have been proven on the dyno to actually cause a loss in power. DRD diesel just did a great video series on it, and somehow the video was magically removed since Banks didn’t like the transparency about the intake horn. It does solve a problem, however that problem can be solved much cheaper. If you want to maximize the horn look into intact tuning from a reputable source.

@@gemcityfireman Thank you for your comment, I have been researching this Elbo for quite some time now, The elbo increases mass airfow, and improves throttle response, this reduces boost time. It also reduces pressure loss at the Turbo. I have noticed the improved throttle response. While I do not have a Dyno, I do not need one to notice the improvement is the way the engine responds. I could have gone with the cheaper repair but the improved performance was worth it to me. There could be another reson DRD removed their video. I follow DRD as well as Banks and ATS.
