I'm old. Tuning a new build in my day was: set the timing. Go rip it up and down the block and check a couple of spark plugs. Pop a bowl off and up the jets two sizes. Rinse and repeat.

Loved all the camera angles! Sometimes you get a glimpse of tire flex at launch while at the track, but nothing like the view on the dyno. The tire flex/ripple views absolutely highlight just how much power is being applied. I could see the strain on the straps, especially when the front straps went slack. How often do you give your dyno straps a detailed inspection, and how often do you end up replacing them? I hope you have a fun Holiday weekend. Have a bit of chill time before diving back in to LS Fest prep.

Fascinating to watch the tire flex under load, a wave of sidewall distortion travels up from the contact patch… Wonder if it still does that under way when it’s not restrained by the straps on the dyno…
