Markus eats Ramy for breakfast in terms of freak factor. Also speaking about Success, Ramy placed second in a joke like lineup compared to the high end line up Markus had to face and still placed great. Also in terms of leg size, look at 6:00

AFCA - World Bodybuilding Archive both have amazing legs in 6:00 And yeah, Ramy isn't really a freak, he is HUGE but he's not freak, he is the most aesthetic huge guy ever, with round muscles, proportions and balance, he doesn't have the freak factor because he doesn't look unbalanced. While Rhul had pointy delts and peaky biceps, he looked blocky, while Ramy's frame seems to be able to hold muscle in a more pleasing way.

I saw both these guys in person at the Olympia last year. Markus Ruhl still looks like a freak in person even though he’s lost size since his competition days. Both guys looked about the same size in clothes which tells me Ruhl would have been an absolute freak in his prime.

Ramy's legs does not match his upper body... but his quads do overpower everything, his hamstrings are not there, calves are not there. His proportions are off. His back has an illusion of being really big because of his rib cage and long clavicles, but muscle wise, the back is not enough still, you can see it in the front double biceps.

Hey Nick, I'm new to your channel but I've been binging hard. I'm really enjoying the content. Outside of coming into the 2018 Mr. O in good condition/looking shredded what else does Big Ramy need to do to run down Phil? Where are his weak spots/what muscle groups need the most work? And in a head to head competition, that 2002 version you showed of Markus would beat anything we have yet to see from Big Ramy, imo.

Oooh yeah, excellent comparison! I'm a fan of both Ramy and Ruhl but I don't know the true "tale of the tape", as in size of chest, size of arm, etcetera. Although one seems to have the edge in one regard the other has it in another making it a very close match. I'm thankful that they each have their own "era" so a winner doesn't HAVE to be declared and they can each rule their time. Heh, heh. So that's the way I'm leavin' that comparison, a non-committed kinda wishy-washy result. Spot on Nick, marcus was very impressive and was let down but his distended abdomen which gave him a blocky appearance where Ramy has a smaller waist which gives him a more aesthetic shape. Marcus also has a lower lat insertion which doesn't help the appearance of his waist line as opposed to Ramy who has more of his mid section on show with a higher lat insertion. That being said Marcus was massive and absolutely ripped for competition and should be held in comparison with the biggest of the mass monsters. Great post Nick, as usual.

Markus. The pic at 6:42 speaks for itself. Aesthetics & proportion aside, Markus's shoulders and arms are crazy big, and his chest is so HUGE there's only about an 1-1.5" between his upper chest and his chin. Reminds me of a comment by Dorian Yates talking about Markus, where he said his chest is so developed it gets in his face.

To be honest, I was never very fond of the looks of Rühl, the man is a really nice person, but I think the reason why he became a mass monster was that he always knew he, to put it bluntly, had no aesthetics, so he went for mass.

2002 night of champions Ruhl is unbeatable. That physique is the freakiest most jaw dropping physique in all of bodybuilding history and probably will stay that way for a long time. However he was inconsistent and can’t just be judged on that competition alone. If you talk about his other competitions then he is more or less equal to ramy in his freak factor but 2002 was a whole new level.

They are both 5'10" tall. Markus Ruhl's Physique is much more Set Apart than Big Ramy. Ruhl had fantastic muscle separation & competed against stronger competition-nor was he part of the IFBB clique.
