In Part 2 of the Big Rebo series Rebo gives a roll call of the original Park Village Crips in Compton when the Wilmington Arms was being built. According to Rebo there was only Grandee Compton Crips when he first started banging. He talks about being good friends with Michael "Salty" Leblanc. He goes on to give a roll call of the first Crips he ever met and puts the first Samoan crips in Park Village. Rebo is a legendary Compton Crip mentioned in Monster's book: The Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member by Sanyika Shakur.

The weights looks like they were a detriment also to some brothers. Look at how many brothers got stabbed by the Southern Mexicans and whites. What I mean by Detriment is that it looks as if many brothers, thought size alone would be enough to handle the enemy. While the enemy was coming with Shanks and other weapons. I know there were brothers who were good with the knife, but with the number of brothers getting stabbed, like what Rockhead mentioned. You have to wonder about the Size, lack of discipline, etc.
@complexblackness
@complexblackness 4 жыл бұрын
@@kaitjetoch What I'm saying is many brother relied TOO much upon size and hands, as opposed to Mexicans who damn near solely relied on Shanks. Some of the most dangerous inmates regardless of race from the 60s-80s didn't have tremendous size, but they were BIG with the blade. Size alone doesn't mean you can fight, what it can do is intimidate those who can be intimidated by size. Now if you have size and can fight, you're a problem.

When brothers take us down memory lane I find pre-machine testimonials so powerful. Cutes, Rochead, AC, Rebo and few other players take us to a wild west where we had nothing as Roc put it so eloquently. I've never been to the pen, but I remember having nothing on the streets. In the 70's we didn't go to other neighborhoods outside of the community without concern for other races and police hatred towards us. In the eighties people started being afraid of us. For all the negative aspects bangin has been instrumental in making others show us some semblance of respect. We had to take it though!

When you say L.A you gotta break it down from each city because L.A is the city of Los Angeles not the county. Compton is Compton but for some reason, people keep saying it's L.A when its not. Just like San Bernadino is San Bernadino.Fontana,Rialto and Colton are part of San Bernadino county but it's not the city.Let's not confuse out of towners; Now Compton,Long Beach and East L.A do have their own gang history that could be told separately from L.A city.

I appreciate big homie staying in his era of info. I gotta say this. Crip and blood may have been birthed in Cali, but damn near every original member from all sides are deeply rooted in the Bible Belt. All we have to do is connect the dots and follow better protocol so all tribes will cut out the trivial nonsense. Kev mac you’re doing your shit Cuz...

The story is consistent when it comes to the vast majority of Cs and Bs coming into the system in the late 70s and through the 80s. Rebellious Inability to follow orders Undisciplined. When a group lacks cohesion and discipline. They became easier to attack or outright eliminate in combat. That is a historically proven fact.
